It would be a shame if the gorgeous colors in this tattoo were partially lost due to poor after-care.

Shortly after the tattoo is completed, the tattooed area will ooze fluids. Gently wipe/pat the area and repeat the process until the oozing fluids no longer appear. Don't wash the area, keep it dry. After the weeping has subsided....

Apply an ointment, such as a triple antibiotic (not Vaseline) to the tattooed area. If the area starts to weep again, gently wipe down and reapply ointment. This is important. Remember, the better care you take of your new artwork immediately after you get it, the better the ink will keep and the better looking the results will be.

Keep the tattoo dry during showers. To help with this Vaseline can be used as water will repel off it. But after your done with your shower, remove the Vaseline and let the tat dry a bit. Apply ointment for 2 or 3 days and then switch to a non-perfumed lotion.

- As your tattoo is a skin trauma(wound), it will scab.
- Absolutely, DO NOT pick at the scabs. Let them fall off naturally!!
- If you pick at the scabs, ink can come out of the epidermis with the scab and you will lose some depth of color.

If you follow these directions and/or your tattoo artist's instructions, you will have given your tattoo the proper environment to yield the best results, which will reveal the vibrant colors and/or depth of color that you expect from quality artwork.
