Star Wars has became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon since its first release in 1977 up to now with the release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars which was the latest movie in the Star Wars movie series. It popularity has expanded into all other media outside of movie including books, television series, comic books, and video games such as the nintendo wii, nintendo ds, and the sony playstation.

With the popularity of the movie, It is really not surprising that Star Wars costumes have always been in the top of the most popular costumes during Halloween season. The sexy Princess Leia and the sexy Princess Amidala Halloween costumes are especially popular among women (and men too for that matter).

Who can forget Princess Leia's well-known "Cinnamon Bun Hairstyle" hairdo in A New Hope and the "Metal Bikini" slave costume worn by Princess Leia when she was held captive in Jabba the Hutt's palace at the beginning of Return of the Jedi. The "golden metal bikini" has become so popular it has its own extremely large fan base and after her appearance wearing the "golden metal bikini", Carrie Fisher (and thus Leia herself) almost immediately became a cult sex symbol.
