Hi,
My name is Carrie, and among other things, I am a Shaklee independent distributor. I am a mother of two kids. My son is 20 years old, and my daughter is 2 1/2! I have always been a busy person. Since high school, I have always had at least 2 things going on- either 2 jobs or a job and school, or a job and college. Also, I have been a mom since 1987.
I have always been interested in science and medicine. When I was 20, I got a job working in an "Intermediate Care Facility". This is a home for profoundly mentally retarded people. While working there, I took a short course in medicine, so that I could be certified to pass medications, and give insulin shots. After working there a year, I took a course to become a Certified Home Health Aide. I went around to people's homes to assist in their care. Next I went back to school for nursing, and in 1993 received my LPN license. While working in a nursing home as a nurse, I went back to school to become a Lab Tech. Finally, I thought, I've found what I want to do! I love being a lab tech, and now specialize in microbiology. Recently, the NY State Education Department required all lab techs to be licensed, so now I am a Licensed Medical Technologist officially.

I have been working as a lab tech for about 8 years now. I really like what I do, and I make a decent income, but it just wasn't enough. I started working a second job per diem in a different hospital. It brought in some extra money, but it took me away from my little girl, which didn't fly well with me. Also, I was tired of having such a tight schedule. I knew there was money to be made online, so I started checking into that. I signed on with a couple of scam companies, and lost a lot of money. Good job Carrie! I have some invention ideas, but you need money to get going with that kind of thing, too. I decided to try and do some selling on ebay. I know there are people who make some good money with ebay, but not me. I've had some fun with it, but the fees are just so high that by the time I calculated my money in compared to my money out, I was in the hole. Wonderful!
