My Shamanic Reading List
One can only learn to shamanize from spirit and spirits, who can guide and teach through ANYTHING, including books. In a shamanic world view, books have and ARE spirit and spirits just like every other being and all that is.
Problems arise from shamanism writings when they are taken literally and dogmatically. I recommend reading widely and filing most of it for use when and as needed by spirit and spirits as you are guided along your individualized way of the shaman.
I keep a library of favorite shamanic books in my office/sanctuary space in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. But I learn the most from living the storybook of my life as a universal and neighborhood shamanizer.

- => Core Shamanism strips religious elements and cultural overlays from indigenous shamamanisms from the Americas and many other places, in order to reveal a readily teachable set of 'core' shamanic methods, practiced by shamans almost everywhere, that are easier set of tools for modern, western students of shamanic ways to grasp and adapt.
- => These 'core' techniques have proved helpful and healing to many and are indeed - obviously - much easier to teach and learn than transplanting would-be shamanizers or whole aboriginal spiritual traditions!

- Very, very good recommendations!! "Spirit" tells me what books I am suppose to read and distracts me from the ones I am to avoid. It is all about "Listening" and of course "Believing". There is so much I would love to talk to you about, perhaps one day. Have a blessed day my friend!!
