How, where and when...
Tips and History on the Most Famous Swimwear Style.
History of the Bikini
French Louis Reard had this problem. He had designed something that would stir the masses. But he needed a name for it, something exotic, bold, and eye opening. Four days before he was to show the world his new bikini in Paris, the U.S. Military provided him with a name. They exploded a nuclear device near several small islands in the Pacific known as the "Bikini Atoll". On July 5th, 1946, he unveiled the bikini. Although he would later claim he named the bikini after the islands and not the atomic blast, he was clearly taking advantage of a "hot topic".
Reard's "bikini" was so small, in fact, that no Parisian models at the time would wear it on the runway. He then hired Micheline Bernardini, who had no qualms about strolling around in a bikini, seeing as her day job was a nude dancer at the Casino de Paris. Bernardini was swamped with fan mail, close to 50,000 letters, after photos of her in a reclining pose hit the press.
The bikini got to Brazil at the end of the 50s. The first ones to wear it were the pin-ups Carmem Verônica and Norma Tamar, who would attract huge crowds to Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro, but it didn't take long for the bikini to get popular. Since then, the history of the bikini became part of the history of the Brazilian beaches.
In 1971, the model Rose di Primo improvised the soon-to-become-famous "Tanga" from a pair of little stringy panties. She became the muse of that summer appearing on Brazilian and international magazine covers. She was copied all over the world, with women in France even improvising their own tangas using handkerchiefs.
With more than 7.000 kilometers of coastline and a beach-friendly weather all year around, Brazil is quickly becoming the world main distributor of beach fashion, with sarongs, cover-ups, bags, sandals, hats and, of course, the worldly famous Brazilian Bikinis.

How to Wear
If you are buying a Brazilian Bikini to go to the beach, wear in your back yard pool or go to a tanning bed and get the most amazing tan lines you have ever had, you have to know a few "tricks" about wearing a Brazilian bikini.
There are many different cuts and styles of Brazilian Bikinis but some rules usually apply to all of them.
The bottoms are to be worn low on the hips and offer minimal coverage on front and back.
Most tops tie in back and neck.
The world famous Brazilian triangle top is perfect for small breast or larger breasts that don't need much support, it gives you the sexiest tan lines.
The halter top offers more support and coverage, it is perfect for women who practice sports at the beach. There also are some other styles of bikinis with padding and wires.
Sizes:
Small (Pequeno): 0-3 Jrs.
Medium (Médio): 4-5 Jrs.
Large (Grande): 6-7 Jrs.
This chart is more a suggestion than a rule, if you are used to thongs and would like to wear the bikini very small, go one size smaller, if you feel more comfortable with more coverage go one size larger.

Clearing up the most common Myths on Brazilian Bikinis
Myth #1 Brazilian Bikinis are thongs.
False. While some might still associate the Brazilian bikini with a dental floss-size thong, today's Brazilian briefs incorporate much more fabric, measuring a comparatively modest 4 inches across the rear. And for the beachgoer with an active lifestyle, there are also boy-cut briefs and halter tops that offer support (especially great for surfer girls and beach volleyball players).
Myth #2 My butt is too big/too small/not firm enough. I can't wear a Brazilian Bikini.
Further research on the Brazilian bikini dispels the myth that you have to have a great rear to look good in the famous two-piece swimsuit. Contrary to popular belief, fashion experts say the reason women who wear Brazilians bikinis appear to have flawless butts is because of the bathing suit's cut. Unlike its American counterpart, the Brazilian bikini does not incorporate excess fabric that can sag or bunch up, rather its cut helps lift up a woman's rear, much like a great pair of jeans.
Myth #3 My boobs are too big for a Brazilian Bikinis top.
The usual Brazilian Bikini triangle top doesn't offer a lot of coverage or support, the halter top may offer enough coverage still not a lot of support but there are many different cuts and styles when it comes to Brazilian bikinis.
Myth #4 My boobs are too small for a Brazilian Bikinis top.
The usual Brazilian Bikini triangle top doesn't have padding making smaller girls wonder about them. A well worn small triangle top does wonders for smaller boobs and there's always room for a well placed pad in the halter, cup, bandeaux, and tube tops
