Shannon Lucid - Woman Astronaut with the Most Flight Hours in Orbit
Shannon Lucid isn't a household name, but the NASA astronaut holds the women's record for the most flight hours in orbit, claims the title of the non-Russian with the most flight hours in orbit, and used to hold the women's record for the longest stay in space.
Shannon Lucid Biography
Shannon Matilda Wells Lucid (born January 14, 1943) is an American biochemist and a NASA astronaut. At one time, she held the record for the longest duration stay in space by an American, as well as by a woman. She has flown in space five times including a prolonged mission aboard the Mir space station.
