Introduction
In addition to my artwork, my poetry, and my personal writing, I also write the occasional article here and there and blog quite often. My art and writing can be found all over the web and has also been featured in the occasional magazine or anthology collection over the years. My art has also appeared on book covers, CD layouts, and in strategy/role-playing games.
My Visual Art
I'm someone who has been expressing myself creatively from the time I was very young. My favorite method of doing so has always been visual art. I started out drawing and sketching, using graphite, colored pencils, pastels, and charcoals to capture the world around me, as well as to illustrate images from my own imagination. Later on, I branched out into the world of painting as well and learned to create using oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Still more often, I enjoyed mixing one or more of these media to achieve the effect I was after.Years later, when we entered an age where almost everyone has and utilizes a computer to do many things that would previously have been unheard of, I decided to try my hand at digital art. In previous years, I'd always been something of technophobe, so I wondered how well it would really suit me, but I soon discovered that the world of computers gelled perfectly with my love of working with multiple media to create my art.
Currently I create art by combining my digital paintwork and drawings with stock photos, 3D renders, and other digital resources. How much of any one method was involved in the creation of a particular piece depends on the piece itself, but these days, nearly all my work is best described as mixed media, because it's always a combination of two or more methods. I currently work in Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom drawing tablet. On occasion I will still work with graphite to produce black-and-white drawing, but these days I am for all intents and purposes a digital artist... at least when it comes to my full-color work.
Art Slideshow
Here are some examples of some of my artwork so that you can better see what it's about from a visual standpoint. All images in this slideshow are available for sale as prints at my art shop.
My Writing
In addition to my visual art, I also enjoy writing in all its many forms. I write mostly short stories, flash fiction, and poetry that revolves around subject matter similar to that which you see in my artwork. Some of it could probably be described as fantasy or gothic work, and still more of it could be described as roughly autobiographical allegory or fable. Much like my art, my writing combines many different styles and genres into something that I like to think of as uniquely me. I love language. I love to read it, I love to write it, and most of all, I love to play with it and see what it can really be made to do.In recent years I have also been exploring the wonderful world of novel-writing, which is something I've always wanted to do. In recent years, I have been lucky enough to actually have time to do so. So far I have written two novel-length works. One is nearly out of editing and soon to be released to the general public. The other is in the process of being rewritten and fleshed out a bit, but will hopefully be ready for release shortly after. I also plan on writing and publishing many more novels in the future, as well as collecting some of my short fiction and poetry into volumes as well.
Both of my novels, as well as any future books or collections I will be releasing in the future, will be put up for sale at my on-line book shop. This includes any and all art collections I release in book format. I currently have my first collectible art book Cabbages and Kings on sale now. It is a scrapbook-style volume that combines some of my favorite pieces with some of my poetry and excerpts from my personal writings.
My Website
The following is a syndicated feed from my official website, Seven Maids - Seven Mops. The site itself contains a gallery full of my artwork, a virtual library where you can read samples of my poetry and prose, a blog where I keep readers and fans up to date on what's new with me, and a marketplace where you can purchase my art prints, art products, and books. I also write articles and editorials on various subjects that I feel may be of use to visitors as resources, and those can be found listed in the articles directory for convenience's sake. Stop by anytime and make yourself at home!

- My Space
- Yes, like almost everyone else on the planet, I too have a My Space. My profile is public, and I use it mostly for networking purposes, but I do occasionally talk to some of my friends through there as well. I keep interest lists, a public blog, and a photo gallery visible to people on my friends list there among other things.
- Live Journal
- This is my personal journal, so it's visible only to people who are on my friends list. If you also have a Live Journal and are interested in getting to know me better, you may leave a comment under my "friends only" banner and ask to be added. And FYI, Live Journalers? My official site is available as a syndicated feed for people who would like to be able to read updates right from their Live Journal friends pages.
- Vox
- Just another public blog, similar to the one I keep on My Space. I'm not on this one too much, but I do check in from time to time.
- Like My Space, everybody and their mother seems to have a Facebook these days. I'm no different. If Facebook's your thing, swing by and give me a holler now and then.
- Deviant Art
- This is the main page attached to the shop where I sell my prints. It's also the place to go if you are in need of further information about any of my artwork, including model credits and stock information. I also post art-related blogs there from time to time, and occasionally write editorials for the news section as well.
- Edit Red
- This is my profile on Edit Red, which is a networking community for writers. Feel free to add me to your reading list there if you have an account and want to keep up with any new stories, poems, excerpts, or flash fiction I might decide to post.
- Helium
- I also am pretty active in regards to writing articles and editorials on Helium these days, and I write on a wide range of topics. Some of them I post on my official site as well, but only the ones that I feel are relevant to my regular readers. Stop by and see what other topics I've written about lately if you like.
- Stumble Upon
- This is where I share interesting links, images, videos, or articles that I find in my travels surfing the web, along with my commentary on whatever it was. Feel free to drop in and see what new finds I've come across and decided to share with everyone else.
- NaNoWriMo
- Like a lot of people who like to write, either for fun or for more serious reasons, I participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) every year. I find it's a great motivational tool to get a first draft out of myself at least once a year, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to write and would like to light a fire under themselves when it comes to writing longer work. I'm not really around there much when the event itself isn't going on, but I understand a lot of people are, so this is my profile just in case you are one of them.
