Buttocks or the Butt is definitely one of the very important physical attributes. A shapely and firm butt is as important as fit abs if not more.
Buttocks is made of three big muscle groups, the biggest being the Gluteus Maximus. The droopy and flabby butt is due to all the fat that gets stored around these muscles.
So the first step to a curvaceous behind is to reduce this fat. To this end, good diet and regular cardio exercises is very important. But in addition to burning fat, it is also essential to tone the glutes and build muscles mass. This requires exercises that specifically target that region of the body.
American Council on Exercises(ACE) conducted a scientific study in 2006 to determine the most effective exercises for the butt. The results are published on their website.
