WHAT'S THE BEST WAY...

...to celebrate someone you admire?

Is it a Hallmark card? Nah. A dozen red roses? Zzzzz.

We humbly think the best way to say "I love you" is free, fun, creative, personalized, and keeps giving back for years to come. It's a Squidoo lens.

SHARE THE LOVE

There are two ways to share the love:

1. INVITE as many people as you know to make a lens on something they care a lot about. Get personal and suggest topics they dig. (Hey mom, how about a lens with your homemade chili recipe?)

2. DEDICATE. Make a lens ABOUT a friend, a teacher, a boss (suck up!), a leader, a husband or girlfriend or mom or dad. Someone who inspires you, someone you admire. Then, if you can, show it to him or her. They'll be flattered. And you'll be earning royalties for a great cause along the way. Hey, it's better than stale candy!

LENSES IN THE MAKING...

PEOPLE BEHIND THE LENSES

HOORAY FOR YOUR HEROES!

Did you make a lens for your favorite person? Post it here and we'll check it out for Lens of the Day.

herman1, what are you doing with a door in Vermont? Is it just the door you have? Or a house too?!

Can I use this space for a question? We have a siding glass door in Vermont, and once or more a year, a bird crashes into it. It's been suggested that we attach a decal of a hawk to the glass. Will birds visually recognize the picture as that of a predator, and avoid it?

My lens is all about my love for the elderly. And a special tribute to my late grandfather.

There are 2 Share the Love lenses

Welcome to a Valentine's Day experiment, brought to you by your friends at Squidoo.

We sat about the other day wondering:

"What would happen if conversation hearts could really talk?"

"How can I get my mom to make a lens? Do I have to start one for her!?"

"Why are red roses so boring?"

"Why isn't there a cure for juvenile diabetes yet? I mean, really."

And we came up with this project -- a new kind of conversation heart if you will. A new way to get your friends and loved ones smiling. A new way to make their day. A new way to make a difference, not just in one person's life, but in several.
