A Quiet Witness
Although I don't talk about my faith much, that does not mean that I am in any way ashamed of my Christianity. Indeed, I am humbled to be a child of the King. Simply, I prefer to practice my faith quietly and, instead, demonstrate the qualities of Christianity by my actions rather than by bold declarations. Not that there's anything wrong with bold declarations of one's faith; that's just not my style. In fact, I feel that by proclaiming my faith here I may be setting myself up for scrutiny that might get in the way of my quiet witness, but that is a chance that I've decided to take.
Jesus said, "Seek and ye shall find." I believe that at this time in our history more people than ever are seeking truth; indeed, the truth that will set them free. If you're seeking, perhaps you found this page for a reason and perhaps my quiet witness, presented on this page, will help you find the Truth that passeth all understanding so that you, too, may answer to the name Christian.
Make No Mistake, I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Will you stand up for your Jesus?
Footprints in the Sand
My Lord has carried me through many troubled times, which makes this poem so meaningful for me.
One night I dreamed a dream.
I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.
When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.
"Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I need You most, You leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."
Margaret Fishback Powers, 1964
There are at least three versions of this well-known poem, with three authors claiming copyright. You can read all three versions here.

Just Like Jesus: Learning to Have a Heart Like His (The Bestseller Collection)
"What if for 24 hours Jesus wakes up in your bed, walks in your shoes, lives in your house, assumes your schedule?... What if for one day Jesus lives your life with his heart?
Within these opening lines lies the premise of Max Lucado's book about the possibility of becoming "just like Jesus." In recounting the biblical stories of Jesus' life and deeds, Lucado then explains how Jesus' acts of compassion, forgiveness, honesty, and faith can be reflected in anyone's everyday life. Lucado's concrete analogy of "just like Jesus" helps many readers grasp the fundamentals of Christianity in a new and inspiring way.
The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism
From Publishers Weekly
In this apologia for Christian faith, Keller mines material from literary classics, philosophy, anthropology and a multitude of other disciplines to make an intellectually compelling case for God. Written for skeptics and the believers who love them, the book draws on the author's encounters as founding pastor of New York's booming Redeemer Presbyterian Church. One of Keller's most provocative arguments is that all doubts, however skeptical and cynical they may seem, are really a set of alternate beliefs. Drawing on sources as diverse as 19th-century author Robert Louis Stevenson and contemporary New Testament theologian N.T. Wright, Keller attempts to deconstruct everyone he finds in his way, from the evolutionary psychologist Richard Dawkins to popular author Dan Brown. . .
Mother Teresa's Secret Fire: The Encounter That Changed Her Life and How It Can Transform Your Own
At age 38, Mother Teresa broke out of her safe and reliable routine as a grade school teacher. With only 5 rupees to her name, she began going daily into the slums of Calcutta. By the time of her death in 1997, her Missionaries of Charity had spread to more than 120 countries and touched millions of lives.
What was it that caused this transformation? What special qualities did she have that moved her into action? How do we account for her universal impact from such extreme, humble conditions? What was it in her that touched so many so deeply?
Mother Teresa's Secret Fire provides the answers and what they mean for you.
The Purpose Driven® Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?
The spiritual premise in The Purpose-Driven Life is that there are no accidents---God planned everything and everyone. Therefore, every human has a divine purpose, according to God's master plan. Like a twist on John F. Kennedy's famous inaugural address, this book could be summed up like this: "So my fellow Christians, ask not what God can do for your life plan, ask what your life can do for God's plan."
What In the World Is Going On?: 10 Prophetic Clues You Cannot Afford to Ignore
Is the current economic and political crisis actually prophesied in the Bible? If so, what are we to do about it? It is hard to piece together all this information in a way that gives a comprehensive picture of what the end times will look like. That's why so many theories abound. And that's why Dr. David Jeremiah has written What In the World Is Going On?, a unique book that cuts through the hundreds of books and numerous theories to identify the essential 10 most important bible prophecies.
There's Just Something About That Name
The name of Jesus is so precious and special to me.
Music That Lifts Me Up
There are so many varieties of Christian music. I hope you find something here that lifts you up, too.
It all boils down to this:
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life;
no one comes to the Father,
but through Me.'
John 14:6

- Excellent Lens! I'm giving you 5* and adding you to the lensroll of several of my Christian based lenses! I love the internet that it allows even a quiet testimony a platform to share. Who knows who may stop by and be touched in such a way that it may allow them to see your friend (and mine) Jesus Christ.
Blessings,

- This is a sweet offering here! I enjoyed the music you selected--loved seeing Bev Shea, always have wanted eyes like him. I also enjoyed Micheal English and "In Christ Alone" as well as the Gaithers and friends doing "Something Beautiful". A quiet witness allows one to hear the still small voice. Well done.
