So, what's new in makeup ? It's all about glamor. The newest trend in makeup, in one word ,"sexy and sophisticated" and is universal to all women. The key to pulling off these looks, have confidence... The five hottest trends are liquid eyeliner, red or wine shades of lipstick, the new gray eye shadow hue, and strong well manicured brows. Liquid liner has made a real big comeback! And was all over the runways this fall.

 Do you use makeup? I admit it, I do, and have for a very long time... I would not call myself a makeup snob, but after many years of using makeup I have come to the opinion that some of the brands that cost a bit more are just better.

When I started using makeup as a young teen, I didn't care about which brands I used. Actually I didn't even know about higher-end cosmetics, due to my age.  Well, as I became a young adult it all changed. After entering the work world I was exposed to so many women, all having favorite makeup brands, some more costly than others?

 My initiation was swift, before I new it I was buying the more expensive brands of makeup. Over the years I have tried so many brands, it would be hard to list them all.I have come to the conclusion that the more expensive brands do have an edge over the cheaper brands. I do still have cover Girl, and Revlon favorite though.

 I have many girlfriends that disagree with my fetish for top end cosmetic's. Some thinking it is ridiculous to spend so much money on makeup, I have to constantly defend my need for top brand cosmetic's. In the same breath I have to say, I have friend that shop only the drug store shelves for cosmetic's, and seem to look wonderful with their cheaper brand's cosmetics.

I have a saying "if a bit of high end makeup makes me happy, why should it matter to anyone else? " I would also point out, many that criticize have not tried the better brands of cosmetic's to  actually compare.

Everyone has their favorite makeup brand, I can't help it I have so -- many...I have added a few of my favorite brands of cosmetic's below, along with some of my tried and true products from each popular cosmetic brand.I hope you will take time to add feedback below, and perhaps share a few of your own tried and true beauty products.

Bobbi Brown is a guru pro makeup artist with a great makeup line. Many celebrity makeup bags will have something by Bobbi Brown.

Jennifer Beals has Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper in sable, Michael Michele has her beautifully Sheer Foundation, Rachel Bilson has Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in bronze and Victoria Principal has Bobbi Brown Essentials lipstick in Café Stain.

I would define Bobbi Brown blush as perfect!

Bobbi Browncosmetics are great, but the blush - is a stand out. Itgoes on to look natural. Its an oil-free matte blush that is not artificial looking or extreme in colored. Bobbi Brown's blush has just a slight hint of shimmer. Which is not at all not glittery. The texture is amazing! It goes on naturally smooth, blends well and compliments the skin tone. I prefer the look of powder blush, because it presents a more finished look, which can give a slight contour to the cheekbones.

Bobbi Brown products have always marketed a very classic, natural look, and I can see that by the products I have tried. Bobbi Brown also markets a cream blush stick that is great...

Benefit cosmetics - Glamourette

Benefit cosmetics make so many wonderful cosmetic's... But the Glamourette kit is to die for...

Glamourette is one of the newest kits to come from Benefit cosmetics. The brand is known for its beautiful and quirky packaging. I love with this kit; it is the most wonderful makeup ensemble I have seen in a while. It reminds of a 1940s theme.

Glamourette is an ensemble shaped like a black, old-fashioned, handheld mirror. It contains a rouge and puff on one side, a translucent powder and puff on the other side, and a complementing lipstick in the handle. It also has three mirrors and comes with a black organdy wrist bag and two additional puffs. There are three Glamourette ensembles available: "Coy" (mocha apricot), "Fickle" (warm berry) and "Divine" (rich plum).
The whole compact comes in a sturdy creme coloured cardboard box with decorative features.

Also available are "interchangeables". Besides the three ensembles available, there are lipsticks, rouges and powder in additional colours which you can use as well, since Glamourette is refillable. Lipsticks: vain-red, swell-dusty rose, prim-pink cocoa pearl, keen-champagne pearl, as well as fickle, divine and coy.
Rouge: There is just the three (coy, fickle and divine) available. Powder: There is the translucent powder that comes in the ensemble.

I love the rouge, it goes on well without that heavy over done look.

SmashBox is a combination photography studio/makeup line created by the grandsons of Max Factor. SmashBox lipsticks stand out in my book. There are so many shades to chose from. The quality and staying power is there.

Smashbox lipsticks depending upon how you apply it can serve as a lipstain or a dramatic evening lipstick, they are very versatile. It has become my favorite lipstick no matter what the occasion. I get great compliments every single time I wear it!

Because SmashBox uses loads of pigmentin their lipstick, It is long-lasting, even after a meal I still have a decent amount of pigment on my lips. I still have to use makeup remover to get the remains of it off at the end of the day. The lipstick has no taste or smell, which is a plus to me.
