Shih Tzu Grooming

Tip number One:

Before you begin, first help your Shih Tzu relax by showing affection and giving him/her a nice shoulder rub. Massaging the shoulders will put your dog in a very relaxed state and help stop the squirming during brushing.

Tip number Two:

Always brush before you wash or clip.

Tip number Three:

Separate the matted areas. Pull the mats apart and comb small sections at a time to untangle those matted areas. If you can't get the area unmatted, use blunt tip scissors and cut the mat.

Tip number Four:

Using a filing tool like the Pedi Paws to file back toenails will leave a nice smooth surface and is less likely to cause injury.

Tip number Five:

Don't forget to add Teeth brushing to your Shih Tzu Grooming routine.
