Shoes to Wear With a Tinker Bell Costume

Ranked #6,346 in Holidays & Celebrations, #106,539 overall

Do fairies even wear shoes?

When you think of fairies, you think of wings, woods, pixie dust, magic. But . . . you don't always think of shoes. In my mind, Tinker Bell is barefoot; it just makes sense for woodland fairies to not wear shoes. Still, Disney put her in shoes - cute green flats with white pom-pons - and you likely can't run around in your Tinker Bell costume without them.

You'll notice the models in costume pictures have on everything from white slippers to clear heels to silver sandals. Tinkerbell herself wears a green slipper with a white poof on it. So here are some options for you fitting to a variety of tastes and needs. (Don't want three inch heels if you're doing a lot of walking!)

A lot of these I found at ShoeBuy.com. (Get 10% off your order with this link and free shipping any time!) Others come from Endless.com, which is Amazon's shoe store.

How to Choose a Tinker Bell Shoe

So what shoes to wear with a Tinkerbell costume? Well, it depends on three factors: what kind of fairy you are trying to be, where you are wearing your costume and where you live.

What Kind of Fairy?
Actually, I guess this question is more of a "how sexy" one than kind of fairy. Because a sexy fairy might go barefoot, but she isn't going to be caught dead in sneakers.

Where Wearing?
This is really a practical consideration because you don't want to be wearing stilettos if you're taking the kids trick-or-treating. So if you're going to be walking with the kids, sneakers or flats are called for. Just hanging at a party, flats or sandals or flip flops are perfect. Taking that costume dancing? Check out the uber hip and high options.

Where Live?
Let's face it. You can get away with flip flops for Halloween in Florida. Not so much in Minnesota. So there's a practical aspect to the whole shoe thing. And %u2026 there' not really a way to wear Tinker Bell-appropriate shoes out in the cold. Sigh.

One argument for not going with costume-y shoes is that you can wear them other times. Strappy silver sandals are great for going out at night and sneakers are practical anytime. When weighing between different styles, think about whether you could purchase something you could wear year-round. You could even move toward a silver or brown color instead of green to make that more possible.

Note that I have chosen these shoes based solely on looks. We're trying to complete a look here, so that was all that mattered to me. They vary greatly in terms of comfort, quality and cost, so shop smartly.

Tinker Bell Shoes

The first pair are the official licensed from Disney adult sized Tinker Bell shoes. That's the exact look, if that's important to you. The second pair is really close for a regular pair of shoes.

Flip Flops and Casual Sandals

Other than sneakers, think light for your feet. That means no really large clunky shoes or dark colors unless it's a barely there shoe. Tinkerbell has to be able to fly, after all. So when you're looking, avoid anything that will weigh you down. (This is a practical fashion consideration as well since Tink's outfit is on the skimpy side.) This makes flip flops and casual sandals a good option if comfort is a goal.

Boots for TinkerBell

Now - boots aren't exactly Tinker Bell style. But for practical considerations, you might need or want to consider them. You could pair them with green tights under your costume to help you stay warm. That will move you to looking a little like Peter Pan on the bottom half, so make sure you really glam up the top to be very clearly Tink.

Some of these are really big and clunky, but the light silver color and clear soles balance that out. If you're looking for a sexy shoe to go with your Tinker Bell costume, these are the way to go for sure.
