I hate computers. Odd thing to say on a site about computers, right? Even though I would rather read a book than work with a computer I find computers to be quite useful. Currently I use a MacBook which I absolutely love! PC's do have their usefulness, but there is nothing like a Mac. In my searching to find what I need and want in the computer genre I have found several sites to be invaluable: TigerDirect.com, NewEgg.com, and TechBargains.com to name a few.
Best Discount Computer Sites
I mentioned in my intro about my dislike of all things computer. Well, this is not entirely true. I do not prefer them, but I have found them to be quite useful at times. Like now for instance. I could not be creating this wonderful lens for all of you to partake without my trusty laptop. But enough about me and more about finding the best deals for your computer needs.First, my favorite site has got to be TigerDirect.com. I have shopped Tiger for over ten years and have never been disappointed. Their processing time is FAST and their prices are among the lowest I have found. I would and have recommended Tiger to anyone and everyone. If you have not checked them out, do so now. Well, not right this second, but when you are done reading this!
A close second is NewEgg.com. NewEgg offers some great deals and can be competitive with Tiger. I have found NewEgg to be slightly higher, but still less than your average computer retailer. Additionally, you can be secure in knowing you are dealing with a reputable company. There are some great NewEgg.com Coupons out there too!
Now, where are my manners? I believe I made mention of my love and adoration for my MacBook. Yet, there seems to be no mention of my favorite discount Mac sites. No, that is not an oxymoron! A great place to find deals on all things Mac, and some things PC, is MacMall.com. MacMall is similar to Tiger in its setup and offers some great deals for those hard to find Apple products.
So, there you have it. All my secrets are out and it is time for me to run. If you have a great computer site that I missed, let me know and I'll check it out. Until next time...
Sites to Check Out Before You Checkout
There are some great pre-shopping sites one should visit prior to just diving in. I recommend visiting RetailMeNot for additional coupons and incentives for the products or stores you will shop. This site is a great place for individuals to post their great finds and help those of us with our own.Next, you will want to visit a site like EBates, Cashbaq, or UPromise to maximize on your purchase. All three sites offer rebates either as cash to be paid upon reaching a certain dollar amount or, in the case of UPromise, to be used towards college expenses. If you are going to spend the money why not get a little in return for your effort. More on this in a bit.
Now, on to the comparison shops. Cnet.com is the number one source for reviews and comparisons for all your electronic needs. You also should check out Amazon.com and eBay prior to settling on your item. Check out all the reviews by experts and consumers and compare prices along with the incentives above. You will be surprised by how much you can get for so little.
I promised you more on the rebate sites so here goes:
1. EBates.com offers a $5 incentive just for signing up. And, if you spend $10 by December 31, 2008 you will get $10 back. You also accumulate rebates by shopping through their links. All of this adds up to less money for them and more money for you.
2. Cashbaq.com is similar to EBates. You get a $5 incentive just for signing up and you accumulate rebates by shopping through their links. The key is to watch each site for their specials and compare the rebate percentages for the store of your choosing.
3. UPromise.com is a bit different. UPromise offers rebates to hundreds of stores, but this is giving in the form of savings toward college loans. If you or someone you love is planning on attending college, this may be the way to go. Additionally, UPromise offers incentives by using their Mastercard and for purchases certain products at your grocer.

One Laptop is a great way to give back. A child in an undeveloped country gets a laptop and it is environmentally friendly to boot!
The ASUS Eee PC is getting some great reviews. I have my eye on one of these for myself. And who can beat that price!
