Cafepress - A Print on Demand Company for Artists to sell their Artwork on products
The artist/shopkeeper creates the designs, then chooses which products to sell it on.. chooses the profit margin (usually) and creates a visually appealing website shop in which customers may shop. It is a process and can be very time consuming. Many Artists/shopkeepers like myself spend many more hours a day working at this than normal 5-9 day jobs. The payback is that we can work at home which is nice for many reasons. The drawback is when the customer unknowingly shops in the marketplace at Cafepress (which BTW is the Only POD who does this) sells the product for only a 10% profit while the company base price has been elevated. Unfortunately, in google searches, most commonly the links to particular design/product sold at Cafepress goes directly into the marketplace.. where the shopkeeper will get only 10% of the sale and the customer will pay more than if they had landed in the shop. This article will help teach you how to buy the same product in the Cafepress shopkeeper's shop and typically pay less than if you had shopped in the Cafepress marketplace. NOTE:Most -Not ALL- shopkeepers set prices lower than the marketplace - and because the Cafepress base price for shopkeepers is less than the marketplace price, the shopkeeper will usually make a better profit while the customer STILL pays less.
Buying from the Marketplace vs the Shopkeeper's Store
Why you should shop directly from the Cafepress Shopkeer's Store
When this shirt is Not on sale the customer pays 5.01 MORE than if they shop in my store..
Please support your artists when shopping at Cafepress - you can find the artist's shop link at the very bottom of the product marketplace page where it says "Designer's Shop: (mine says)"GO To www.GetYerGoat.com - for Lower Prices
Make sure you look for Designer's SHOP at the bottom right side NOT the link midpage (above the facebook comment window) that only says Designer because that link will still take you to the marketplace. IN ADDITION: The artist gets Volume bonus credit for Shop sales, where they do not get Volume bonus credit for marketplace sales.. You still get the same shirt/merchandise. ALSO from a reader (Thank you) :
You might want to add a note on how to get to Basic shops. If the person has a premium shop that "Designer's Shop" shows up at the bottom, but if they have a basic shop, than it won't show up, but you can get to it by taking the following steps:
Go to the page on CafePress of the item you want.
Click on the link next to the word "Designer:"
Click the link to the designer
That will take you to the shop page, and the URL will look something like this:
http://www.cafepress.com/sk/yourshopname
Remove sk/ to go to the shopkeepers own basic (or premium) shop...
How to Information on Selling Online
Work from home and Make Money
SO Why do I bother With Cafepress at ALL?
Exclusively Licensed to sell from Cafepress
So, why do I bother selling at Cafepress since it is such a PIA? You Ask? Each POD has it's own licensing for design topics allowed to be sold exclusively at their companies and one of those is Twilight, of which I am a huge fan.. Creating Twilight Saga designs is one of my favorite things - they are not allowed at Zazzle, so I remain at Cafepress where I can offer my original Twilight Saga artwork for sale on a huge variety of merchandise.

- Yeah...I know what you mean. Most things in my shop are cheaper than in the marketplace, BUT I still earn more commission off of them than marketplace shops. I'll be linking this site from www.squidoo.com/podshops
