Can You Really Shop For FREE at CVS?
Do you have a CVS Drug Store around where you live? Are you taking advantage of the
Extracare Rewards Program that all CVS locations offer? Once you learn how to work the program at CVS, you'll be amazed at how much of your everyday shopping you can accomplish for FREE, or almost free.
CVS Pharmacies are widely known in the coupon world for their generous coupons that are emailed out. If you go to their website and sign up to receive their emails you will get a $4.00 off $20.00 purchase coupon. Did you know you can print that coupon multiple times and use it over and over? The more you use your card the more CVS coupons you will receive in your email!
The key to a successful shopping spree at all CVS locations is this:
1)Collect coupons from Sunday newspapers. Get one or more sets. Gather these from friends/family who are just going to throw them out.
2)Sign up for a Customer Reward Card at CVS if you haven't done so already and then sign up at the website with your email address to receive emails from them.
3)Pick up a Monthly ECB (extra care bucks) flyer at the beginning of each month and a weekly sales flyer every Sunday from CVS.
4)Start planning and prepare to stockpile!
Once you pick up the Monthly and Weekly flyers you will notice that there are several deals offered where you can purchase an item for $x.xx and receive that same amount right back in ECB's - essentially getting the item for free. The trick is finding coupons to go along with these items and/or using your $4/$20 emailed coupon you received from CVS so you will get more money taken off your upfront price. Once you start racking up the ECB's then you just keep rolling those each week. Another VERY important part of this is to do multiple transactions - don't just throw everything up on the countertop at one time and checkout.
Let me give you an example of a recent shopping trip. I think this will help explain how this system works.
Transaction #1
Alavert allergy meds $6.99 x3 = 20.97
Essence of Beauty gift bag $1.49 x 3 = 4.47
Total before coupons 25.44
-$4/$20 coupon
3 Alavert coupons 3 x -$4.00 = $12.00
Total after coupons = $9.44
Earned in ExtraBucks = 12.00 (4.00 x 3 for Alavert) 5.00 for gift bags
So my first transaction I spent $9.44 out of pocket and I now have $17.00 ECB's to spend
2nd Transaction
CVS pain relief (24 gelcap/bottles)5 @ 3.99 = 19.95
Heinz Vinegar 2.99
Total = 22.94

-17.00 ECB's (from Transaction #1)
Total after coupon = $1.94 (paid cash)
Earned $19.95 ECBs for Pain Relief $1.00 Vinegar
3rd Transaction
Softsoap Body Wash 4 x $5.49 = $21.96
Mennen Speed Stick Deodorant $3.99
-$4.00/$20 coupon
-$1.00 of deodorant coupon
-19.95 ECBs
-1.00 ECBs
Total out of pocket = zero
Earned $25.95 in ECB's for body wash and deodorant
4th Transaction
1 Body Wash @ 5.49
1 pk of 8 rolls Viva paper towels $6.49
2 Alavert 2x6.99 = 13.98
6 boxes of Raisin Bran - Buy 1 Get 1 Free 3 @ 3.99
24 pk bottled water $3.99
-$4/$20 coupon
(2) -4.00 coupons Alavert
-.50 Viva coupon
(2) -$3.00/3 boxes cereal
-21.96 ECB's
Pay $1.46
Earned ECBs $15.49 (Body Wash - 5.49, Viva - 1.00, Alavert - 8.00, water - 1.00) still have $3.99 left over from ECB's didn't use
You can keep this up over and over from week to week stockpiling toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, baby supplies, paper products, razors, makeup and so much more.
