Welcome to my lens about Shopify. I am a fan of Shopify, the website that small business owners can use to build their own online shop. I am not associated with Shopify in any way, I just like what they are doing, and I like what other people are doing with their Shopify stores.
On this lens you will find links to Shopify, Shopify related sites, and Shopify stores. While I do not have my own Shopify store, I do plan to help my sister-in-law start her own Shopify storefront in the near future.

Instructions for inserting images into Liquid files (not CSS files)
I had been tinkering with the Vision template builder, and I ran across one simple thing that confounded me. When I added an image to the Liquid file (not the CSS), Vision would never show the image. I was using the regular html tags of 'img src='. Finally, after much hair pulling, I found this article in the Shopify documentation which shows the correct method of adding an image to Liquid files. I had a hard time finding this link, so I thought I would carve it out here for anyone who hits the same roadblock.

Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML
I am not a website designer, but I have read the Head First book on CSS and HTML and I found it incredibly useful for tinkering with the CSS and Liquid templates used in Shopify.

Learn to Program (Pragmatic Programmers)
I believe Shopify is written in the programming language Ruby, and while I don't know Ruby, this is the book I would buy if I wanted to learn.

Hot topics on the forum at Shopify
- Drop Shipping
- A hot topic, not only at Shopify, but apparently around other shopping cart type websites, is for the service to accomodate drop shipping.
- Forms
- A lot of shop owners would like to include forms on their Shopify storms, and this thread contains a couple of solutions (Wufoo and others).
- Domain names
- Using your own domain name in conjunction with your Shopify store is understandably a hot topic at the forums.
- The Mustang Post
- This isn't a long thread, but it is one of my favorites. The author (fivestargeneralstore) compares Shopify to the Mustang, as part of a plea to Jaded Pixel to keep Shopify true to it's own nature (shopping+simplicity).
