God has upheld me and let me know that there is nothing that can separate us from His love.

And when I say broken-hearted, I mean hurting so badly that I
couldn't eat or sleep! Are you like that?

I mean, nothing, not death, nor disappointment, nor betrayal,
nor pain, or divorce, nor drugs, nor alcohol, nor lying, nor
stealing of your love or someone elses - nothing.

Walk straight into moments that have always scared you.

Follow through and achieve what your heart is yearning to do.

If you truly want to heal, you must heal in your mind, your heart, your soul, your spirit (your personality), and your body. I have made a page for each to help you and to encourage you to heal as a total person.

Right now, you may feel as if you are just barely surviving. I understand. I have been there. I have been in the pit of darkness in my soul and my mind and my spirit. Do not despair. Do not die of a broken heart. It is possible. Don't be one of those. You are stronger than you think you are are.

Absolutely nothing. When you come to the realization that when all else fails around you, God is there, you will find some peace. When you come to the certainty that no one gets off this planet alive, you begin to realize that- hey! maybe it is time I check out about the after this life stuff called - eternity. Are you ready for that?

Is your heart broken? As my gift to you, I want to give to you these stories
that I wrote when my heart was too heavy to do anything, but just listen to those around me "live" since I was only merely existing at the time, trying to put one foot in front of the other, just to get up and brush my teeth was effort.

Have you ever been that broken hearted?

Have you ever been that low? If you have, you need inspiration, and I found the best inspiration in the world came from Proverbs in the Bible. So---I began writing and Proverbs - God's own words became real to me again.

So, you might want to go grab a quick copy of this instant downloadable ebook to give to someone who needs some cheering up. Most of the stories are light, and all include a proverb and you can't beat the free ebooks that come with it.
Hope it helps you or someone you know whose heart is crushed by tragedy and we all experience that in our lives if we live long enough.

Short Story #1 For The Broken Hearted - Is It You? Read on...

Misery Loves Company

Misery loves company, and not only does it love company, it just wants to sit right down in your living room and pull up a chair to eat with you. Not only does it want to eat with you, it wants to go to sleep with you too, all night long, playing the same "misery" tune over and over.

Enough! Joyce Meyer says "get over it." And "get on with it." Everyone has been used, abused, hurt, dragged through, around and over the mud, just get over it. She is SO right, and what makes us madder when we are ALREADY mad?

To be around those who are so cheerful! Like when you go through the drive-thru at Chick-fil-A and you've had such a ROTTEN day and it's only 10:15 a.m., and you ask for a diet coke and you hear this little chippy bird say through the intercom, "Oh, it's MY PLEASURE!" You're thinking, what's wrong with them? But the answer is truly, it is what is wrong with you! Misery. Call it like you see it. Call it like you feel it! There is only one cure - JOY, I didn't say happiness, JOY. Where do you find that stuff? The Bible.

The Bible says that joy does our B O N E S good like a medicine! Take your daily dose, read a Psalms, read through Proverbs one verse at a time, and after you read how miserable David was, you'll feel better! I am going to find better company than the one I've been keepin' How bout you?

Proverbs 15:13

A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartaches crushes the spirit.

Short Story #2 For The Broken Hearted

Still Dark

Still dark and a little chilly on a Spring morning in Georgia, I pulled into the gas station near where I had spent the night. Busily pumping gas, I glimpsed into the well-lit convenience store attached to almost all gas stations these days, and I spotted him - a man in his 30's, happily, hurriedly mopping his assigned part of his world - the floors. Soon to be tracked in, traced by, and stepped on by hundreds of feet, he nonetheless attacked his daily task with not only a vengeance, but a seeming cheerfulness.

Wow! I thought - that's how we all should approach our daily tasks. What I would deem as menial - and maybe he did too, he worked at with a flourish and a "pop" as Rachel Ray would say, that inspired me as the gas pump clunked to indicate my job was finished there. All in a day's work - his was probably just beginning - mine was newly inspired and it was Still Dark . . .

Proverbs 15:13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful contenance!

Proverbs 15:16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Short Story #3 For The Broken Hearted

A House For Dreaming

I saw a house today - it was a house for dreaming. Dreaming of Christmases to come, family to come, friends to feed, barbecues to host, grandchildren to watch over, turkeys to bake, lofts to look over and talk to those below. A dream house. A new start. That's what dreams are made of - newness. Sweet times to be savored, instead of nightmares to be overcome. We have had our shares of the dark shadows of life, it is time for light and life.

God meant life to be lived, we have barely eked out an existence in our last few. It is time, and this house is part of that time. The Bible says, "To everything there is a season."

It is our season to heal, our season to bask in the sunshine of God's goodness. Our season to dream. And the house we walked through today, is a house for dreaming. The price is dreamy too! But, God will provide a new home, a new castle - He always does.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Short Story #4 For The Broken Hearted

Brenda Sue

Brenda Sue was all girl - her mother bought her clothes from the Sears & Roebuck catalog every Spring. We all eyed her with envy as she walked into the classroom with the latest crisp skirt and matching striped blouse with shoes to match.

Boy, did she look good! And the boys thought so too! She was all sweetness too! Her personality was sunshine and her disposition was full of caring. She was my best friend in all the world. Brenda Sue.

We spent more hours together than I spent at home in my four years of high school. Mall-shopping, McDonald's burgers, trips to the lake, trips to the porch to talk for countless, endless hours on how to solve this relationship issue and what "that latest boy-note" must have surely meant. Courted by all the boys in school, Brenda Sue was also the first to get a car at sixteen!

A bright, red Pinto shiny and new. But was she selfish? Not a chance! She carted me around in that Pinto as if I were co-owner. Brenda Sue. Married now with four children of her own, I barely get to talk to her now. Good thing we spent all those lazy, hazy days of Georgia summer on her trampoline, slathered with baby oil and dreams. Had we only known the future, we would have taken off in that red Pinto and never looked back. Brenda Sue. Thanks for the memories . . .

Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly, and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. (or in this case a sister!)

Short Story #5 For the Broken Hearted

To Be Continued.......

Here is a sample of another story I wrote traveling to San Antonio, Texas one summer evening. I was late and I was tired and didn't feel much like talking, but God has other plans, an encounter of a "broken-hearted" kind....

As I sat down on the plane, I wondered who would take the aisle seat next to me. It didn't take long. She was a stout woman, friendly, with reading glasses perched on her nose.

Nothing but quiet between us for the first hour of the flight, I finally broke the awkward silence with the question, "is that a crossword puzzle you are doing?" "No," she replied, grateful to break the bond of strangeness to stranger, " it is a "fill-in puzzle" which was easy, but worked her seventy-two year old mind. As I listened, surprisingly she opened up her heart, her life, her mind replaying the recordings of her past two weeks with grandchildren. How dear she was, this woman I thought, as she reminisced. How loved she was by her children, her grandchildren. Every page or two of her dialogue, I nodded and smiled, thinking how full she was, bursting, to share her details, eventually, her conversation turned from happiness to grief.

My ears perked up, my heart listened instead of my head. What was that she said? He was sick, she said, for so long. Twenty long years of a disease that robbed her of the man she knew, the father her children knew and loved, the "Papa" beloved by his sweet grandchildren.

Sadder to me than the loss she spoke of, were her last words as we were about to land on the tarmac. As she shook her head, she said these startling words, "I've lost my ---- she spoke softly, now. I could not quite decipher her words and I did not want to miss them. I leaned in closer, "I've lost my .....

Has your significant other walked away or have you?

There are several things you can do.

Pray - God is close
Find a good support group at a local church or in your community.

Find a good resource to help you reunite with your spouse, if possible, or carry on without him/her.

Know that God loves you more than anyone can and He has a plan for your life.

Imagine being happy again - the choice is yours.

Don't give up, don't give in. God has not given up on you.

Only God can heal your broken heart. Go to Proverbs and read about your heart. It's in there, I promise.

Here's a poem I wrote. I hope you enjoy it and it lifts your broken heart:

I Know There's A Heaven When:

I see the secret smile that still passes between my mother and father, married longer than I've been alive.

I see the crimson trees as a stark contrast to the baby blue sky and the white, cotton-candy clouds.

I see the low-hanging clouds cover the ground and lift mysteriously as the sun breaks through the morning.

I meet a new friend and see the shiny eyes of Jesus and feel a kindred spirit within just a few moments of exchanged conversaton.

I encounter a young couple who could be living for themselves - in Africa, begging for support to feed dying babies of another race, another country, a result of someone else's neglect.

I see a lazy cat stretch and shake and notice the exquisite markings of a wild, exotic beast.

I go to a football game and watch the energy and the raw talent and the futures being created for young men with just a brown piece of leather and hear the glorious sounds and pounding beat of a marching band.

When I smell lilac and honeysuckle and the breath of fresh rain.

When I see a splash of take-away-your-breath-beauty on a fall night in the sky.

When I remember how I awoke from a near-death moment twice in my life to find the tiny body of an infant baby cradled between my arms and my heart for the very first time, and the sweet scent of my baby's breath and the soft whistle of their oh-so-small breathing.

When I see a child quote scripture with the innocence of a baby lamb.

When a prisoner in body and spirit lets go and lets God - and is freed from being a prisoner in his soul with one touch of God Himself.

When I look at an endless ocean and a stretch of virgin beach hearing nothing but the roaring of the slamming surf.

When I walk along the seashore and discover its scattering of more shells that my imagination can even fathom and each one is unique.

When I look up at the stars and know God knows each one of them, EACH one by name.

When I need to cry and someone is there with a hanky AND a shoulder.

When I throw back my head to laugh with everything inside bursting with glee, and someone laughs with me.

When I hear someone say they saw the angels in a dying spouse's hospital room.

When someone precious dies and I am assured that death is a doorway and not a dead end.

I know there's a heaven when I read...

Revelation 19:11

Then I saw Heaven open wide-and oh! a white horse and its Rider. The Rider, named Faithful and True, judges and makes war in pure righteousness. His eyes are a blaze of fire, on his head many crowns. He has a Name inscribed that's known only to himself. He is dressed in a robe soaked with blood, and he is addressed as "Word of God." The armies of Heaven, mounted on white horses and dressed in dazzling white linen, follow him. A sharp sword comes out of his mouth so he can subdue the nations, then rule them with a rod of iron. He treads the winepress of the raging wrath of God, the Sovereign-Strong. On his robe and thigh is written, King of kings, Lord of lords.
