Everyone who owns a pick up truck knows how frustrating it can be trying to get good traction on snow and ice. Many truck owners solve the problem by adding bags of sand or cement blocks to the pick up bed but this is not a reliable or safe solution.
The sandbags and cement blocks tend to shift around and cause damage to your truck bed and don't spread the weight uniformly which is the ideal scenario. Shurtrax is the perfect solution, so if winter driving conditions are making your pick up truck driving a challenge grab the Shur-Trax solution.

Shurtrax FAQ's
Shurtrax Lowest PricesWhat happens when the water in my ShurTrax freezes?
ShurTrax is durable enough to expand and contract during the normal freezing and thawing that occurs at and below 32- degree temperatures. We advise the consumer to fill ShurTrax with 3 inches of water as stated in the product manual, thus allowing sufficient room for expansion. The material is rated to withstand outdoor temperatures as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit.
Will ShurTrax control "axle or wheel hop"?
Yes, very effectively. Adding 400 lbs. of weight to a half, three quarter or full ton pickup will definitely reduce axle or wheel hop.
How can I justify the cost of ShurTrax?
With proper care ShurTrax products should last at least five years. Even at Home Depot's very low price of near $5 for a 60 lb tube sand bag, 6 bags per year, will cost you over $150 which is more than ShurTrax. ShurTrax is fully warranted with our NO HASSLE unconditional warranty for three years.
How much weight is added to the vehicle by ShurTrax?
Water weighs approximately 8 lbs. per gallon. This product is sized so the 3 inch suggested fill level will provide the following weight: LW-0036 = 100lbs; LW-0048 = 300 lbs; LW-0056 = 400 lbs. However, the consumer can add to or take away weight by adjusting the water level from 1-4 inches without harming the product.
Can I haul cargo on top of my ShurTrax?
Yes, the product is rated to withstand up to 500 lbs. of flat laying cargo. The only risk of damage would be if you placed sharp or pointed objects directly on the surface of your ShurTrax. The ShurTrax package warns the consumer of this risk.
Will ShurTrax slide around?
The water weight is sufficient enough to keep ShurTrax in place. However, "inching forward" during braking may occur so grommets have been molded into the design to allow you to strap or bolt your ShurTrax in place. We strongly encourage you to do so.
How durable is the material?
ShurTrax consists of two layers of material. The inner layer is a smooth water resistant material that provides a super high quality seal when molded together using RF (Radio Frequency) equipment. The outer layer is a very tough rot, mildew, and tear resistant material. This outer material consists of a woven nylon mesh through two layers of vinyl. The material is also rated to withstand outdoor temperatures as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit (actual degrees, not wind- chill).
Can you explain the outer seal and baffles?
The outer seal is a very important part of the design. Dies were made allowing us to make one continuous outer seal and eliminate the use of seams. The baffles are also very important. The baffles prevent the water from surging or thrusting by keeping the water isolated inside four separate compartments.
What other uses are there for ShurTrax products?
Many of our satisfied customers report ride, handling and leveling improvements; transporting water for vacation, industrial and commercial purposes including use for agriculture; off-road traction; and controlling axle or wheel hop. Although ShurTrax is used for storage and transportation of water, it is not approved for drinking water (water is not potable).
Can I put anti-freeze or winterizing fluid inside my ShurTrax?
SealPak does not recommend you put anything inside your ShurTrax except water. However, if you so desire, a non- toxic winterizer fluid known as Freeze Proof -100 should be used. Adding 10 gallons of this non-toxic winterizer to the large ShurTrax will eliminate freezing of the water.
What happens if I puncture my ShurTrax, and are there other accessories offered?
SealPak Innovations offers a specific "Patch Repair" kit to service ShurTrax if there is a needed repair. There also is a "Siphon Pump" to aid in draining, a "Perfect Fitting" for ease of filling your ShurTrax and "Ratchet Buckle Straps" to assist in strapping your ShurTrax product in place.

Shurtrax Testimonials
Shurtrax Lowest Prices"We had 8.9 inches of snow last week and the ShurTrax did the job. The first time my wife drove my truck in the snow to work (while I watched our 42" plasma above the fireplace) she was so surprised at how easy it was to get there. She works for Harley-Davidson, and they never close!! Thank You!!!"

"Winter is arriving shortly in Upstate New York and I can't wait until winter now that I have found your product, only one of the coolest inventions ever. It's genius. Thank you for caring about truckers' safety. I am getting one for myself and my father in the beginning of winter. Screw sand and cement blocks!"
G.K/New York
"I never thought your product would work, but it proves to be easier than loading bricks in back of the truck ever year. When I first take it out of my bed, I feel the difference when braking and taking off."
C.A./Kittery, ME
"I have used your product in two of my trucks and I loved what it did for our vehicles during inclement weather. I have showed the doubting Thomases that the product really worked. Thank you so much. A satisfied customer."
A.C. M. / Kansas City, MO
I bought the ShurTrax for my 2x4 full-size pickup. I live in Iowa so I see a lot of winter driving. It is very convenient to drain and store compared to lugging and stacking sand tubes which are an eye sore in the garage. The bladder also distributes the weight better and works as published. You also have the best customer service. Thanks Guys."
D.P. / Iowa
Last winter, I used ShurTrax in my Ford Ranger 2x4. It worked great and was the most stable weight system I've ever tried. As a teacher in northern Michigan, I drive over 50 miles each way to and from school. This spring, I drained the water out, folded it up, and will store it until next year."
D.H. / Gaylord, Michigan
"Just wanted to let you know how well your full size "ShurTrax" worked for me this past winter. I live in the "snow-belt" just off Lake Erie in Chardon, OH and we average over 100" of snow per season. I used this product in my full size Dodge Ram 4 x 4 pick-up to plow all season and it really lived up to the challenge. It gave me the weight I needed in the back of the bed without all the messy sandbags or the danger of heavy loose weights flying around. I even hauled firewood on top without any problems. After all the cold and snow at the end of winter, I was able to neatly store away. Thanks ShurTrax!!"
J.C. / Chardon, Ohio
"I have been using the "ShurTrax" for several months now, in my 1998 Dodge Dakota two-wheel drive pick-up. Snow covered and wet roads were no problem with the added weight in the bed. Even muddy conditions were no problem, and I don't even have a locked rear end! "ShurTrax" sure takes the worry out of adverse driving conditions!"
M.C. / Columbus, Ohio / CW4 U.S. Army
"I just wanted you to know how happy I am with your ShurTrax product. It took only 12 minutes to install with a garden hose and some bungee cords. No more do I worry about my wheels losing traction needlessly in wet or snowy conditions. I was a little worried on several occasions when I loaded items on top of it. But the ShurTrax showed no apparent damage. I just leave it in year round. It's nice not having to load cement blocks or sandbags come winter. My wife likes the way it keeps the groceries from sliding to the front of the pickup bed when she goes to the store. Good idea ShurTrax."
Happy Trucker / Columbus, Ohio
"I am very happy with your product and find it contributes to a safer ride during the winter months. It is a pleasure finding innovative products like yours that really make a difference and lives up to and exceeds expectations.
Well done."

- Very interesting product. I can think of several times where having this would have been great, it's a pain to have to load your truck with cinder blocks or bricks (which is what I usually use).
I have a couple of sites you might be interested in advertising this on (ie. Northern California Truck Sales. Feel free to contact me if this is of interest to you.
