Siamese Cat Gifts And T-shirts

The Mona Lisa or 'La Gioconda' was painted in the 16th century, but she is just as inspiring today. Here, artist Jean Fitzgerald has used her as an inspiration for one of her unique Mona Lisa's pets artwork with a cuddly Siamese kitty enfolded in Mona Lisa's arms.

When I was a girl growing up in California, we had two different Siamese cats. The first we bought at a pet shop for $5. She was a seal point beauty, with wonderful Siamese personality. When we brought her home, it wasn't too long in the future before we also had four kittens as a 'bonus'. That might be why she was in the pet shop to begin with. I loved Suba and was heartbroken when she was stolen several years later.
When I was a young teen, we adopted Nifa, a blue point Siamese, from my brother when he moved with the Navy to live on Adak Island in the Aleutian chain. Nifa was more genteel, a real lady that slept on my bed at night. She loved visiting our neighbor across the street each day to get a treat and to watch television on the little old lady's bed. Our neighbor would even leave the t.v. set on for Nifa if she left to run an errand for a little while. Nifa disappeared one day after we had her for several years. We aren't sure what happened to her.
I love Siamese cats, though, and the videos and photos I've added to this lens brought back a lot of memories for me of life with our Siamese kitties. For the last eight years I've been a mommy to a part-Siamese part many-other-things cat that we had to put to sleep recently. His meowing was typical Siamese kitty speak and he had the long, distinctive chin. I miss him so much!
I met Jean Fitzgerald on the internet a couple of years ago and have been so impressed with her lovely pet art. I decided to feature her work in some lenses because she is a lovely person and because her unique pet art is such a treasure to cat lovers. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
