Siberian Husky Names for Personality

It's usually best to wait a couple days before you name your Siberian Husky. Spend that time observing your puppy, and look for her specific personality traits. Siberian Husky names should reflect the dog, not whatever the current trend is for dog names.

Is your puppy really curious? Then how about a detective-type name, like Sherlock or something from a detective show. Is he really hyper? Then you could pick something from racing, or even better, dog sledding. Is she lazy? Then her name could be something that reflects that.

Siberian Husky Names for Breed

Giving your Siberian Husky a name that reflects the breed is also a really good idea. This takes a bit more work, but it's worth it.

Look into the origin of the breed. Where do Siberian Huskies come from, and in what regions are they most popular? Cold, icy climates are generally where you find Husky breeds. Look in the Atlas, and find place names. Under "Siberia," you will find names like Abakan and Tuva.

The next place to look is in other languages. While you could try to find something very specific to Siberian Husly names, most people who use this method simply go for languages that are spoken in cold regions, like Russian, Norwegian, Finnish or Inuit. You can find these names either by using an online translator like GoogleTranslate or by looking in a baby name database, which usually can be sorted by locale.

Don't be afraid to start your Siberian Husky training right away. Even if you're just spending time with the dog, that counts as training. Every little interaction counts for something! Don't forget to check out this program. It's really good; I highly recommend it for Siberian Husky owners.

A Talented Siberian Husky!

Seems weird, but a lot of Siberian Huskies can do this! Note her name; it's "Mishka," which is a great Siberian Husky name!

I think next time I get a dog, I might go for either a husky or malamute, though that will probably not happen for a while as I already have 2 dogs, including a golden retriever and shizu
