From the lens Siberian Huskies.

Our family has been rescuing Siberian Huskies for several years and adopting some of them as our beloved furry friends. At present, we have a remaining 17 year old white blue eyed Siberian Husky female out of 3 we had (2 passed away in 2010). Tasha rules the home and is so loving! Some geriatric care required at her age but she is so resilient and determined to walk an average of 2 to 3 hours per day at different times, must be what is keeping her going and going! Beautiful breed, cannot imagine owning any other breed. Great influence for long regular walks, good for everyone. You're right, by the way: the howling and talking is really wonderful, a lovely sound. Enjoyed your lens very much, thank you for your insights!

Our Huskies were the smartest dogs we ever had, especially Katie. She was not one of the small AKC types like the other two, but she was brilliant. She was a born therapy dog. One of our other dogs had a seizure disorder, and instinctively she was stand over him and protect him. She could sense his aura and would come get us before he went into a seizure if we were home. Katie also protected our very active son. We had to put special locks on all our doors when he was about 3 or 4, but he still got out of the house sometimes and tried to climb the fence into his friend's yard. After being on hospital bed rest with twins, I was not so fast, but Katie always alerted me before he got very far. The movie Eight Below seemed very accurate to us. My son and I saw it just after Katie's death. I don't think I'd have taken him if I knew how graphic it was. We cried our eyes out because the female husky in that movie acted just like we knew Katie would have.

Cool lens. We have a husky/collie mix whose name is Viva. She's awesome and has a brown eye and a half blue/half brown eye. Everyone thinks she is a wolf, but she has the most gentle and (mostly) calm personality. She sleeps on the couch all day long unless she needs to go outside for the bathroom. Totally low-maintenance. Just what we need.

I enjoyed reading your lens. I have a mutt from the pound that was supposed to be a lab. I believe his momma was a lab, but daddy was some sort of sled dog. He has the features and personality of one. Hard to pin down which one though. He is definitely a digger. He is a lover constantly fighting for alpha position. That sounds like an odd personality doesn't it, but that is him. He makes sure I get my exercise. I don't think we could have kept us all sane if he didn't have a whole fenced in acre to run around and chase the critters all day.

Huskies are beautiful dogs. I had a friend who had huskies. They did like to dig out of the yard but that was their only bad habit. They were sweet and friendly dogs who were a lot of fun to be around. Great lens!

This lens made me think: I went to Northeastern University, home to the NU huskies. Now I live in Connecticut, home of the UCONN Huskies...I must be following huskies around for some unknown reason!

But seriously, Siberian huskies are beautiful creatures. I went dog sledding last year in Canada and I believe the dogs were Siberian huskies. They were so well behaved and personable. Not to mention FAST! Those guys loved to run!

We had a red husky named Misha. The only time we heard her bark was the first time she came nose to nose with a cow. She loved everybody but huskies are built to go the distance and she thought a mile from home was still her backyard. Had to watch that one.
