No story, just grab the gun and kill! Despite not being the sickest game ever, Postal is the most famous one. When it was released by Running With Scissors in 1997, it caused ongoing discussion about violence in video games and kicked down Carmaggedon from its throne of brutal games. Yes, characters pretend to be attacking you, but come on, this is not going to fool anyone. Even the name suggests why there is something wrong with this game: 'Going postal' means going frenzy, after series of independent killings by US postmen in 80'.

Postal was successful enough not just to have a sequel, Postal 2, but also the new Ed Wood, Mr. Uwe Bohl, bought rights for the serie and turned it into a movie (which was finally better than anything he did before). The main hero, called simply 'dude', will return in the third part of the serie. Soon.

Do you like old school adventures like Indiana Jones or Gabriel Knight? Welcome in the world of Harvester! Well, not exactly. This game became notorious for it's violence.

This point-and-click adventure was released in 1996 and had hardly any counterpart (except the #1 in our list) in depicting gore details, offensive and disturbing scenes. Oh yes, creators from Traffic Games said "The primary aim of the game was "to establish the most likely facts of what happened on 1963-11-22 by running the world's first mass-participation forensic construction", the theory being that a player could help prove that Lee Harvey Oswald had the "means and the opportunity to commit the crime", and thus help support or disprove the Warren Commission's findings." but hell, do you believe these Scottish guys that their simple game with simple physics can prove anything??

Player controls General Custer, who has to reach beautiful (at least according to the cover image, you can't tell from the pixels) Native American girl tied up to a pole in a storm of falling arrows.

This game was created in 1982, so you will hardly see more then few pixels, but still, it was a daring try. You can download it, but it won't be easy to run it...
