Sidewalk Angels Foundation

Sidewalk Angels (SWA) was established in 2003 by Rob and Marisol Thomas. This Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that helps to provide support and funds to many smaller organizations including animal wellafr, the homeless and children. Rob and Mari are dedicated animal lovers so their primary help is given to 'No-Kill' animal shelters and rescue shelters. But as you will see below there are many people and places that they have helped and continue to do so.

Their Mission:
"The world can move so fast that those in need are often passed by. From animals that have been abandoned and abused to those who are destitute, homeless, or cannot afford proper medical care - these are universal problems that Sidewalk Angels Foundation, through its efforts, encourages people to address locally."

The foundation has raised over $600,000 from donations and Robs tour proceeds. This money has gone to some fantastic uses such as-

facilities for
-Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary
-The Tunica Humane Society
and the
-Last Chance Animal organization
-Money went to Manos por Patas (Hands for Paws) to help abused and injured animals in Puerto Rico.
-Funds went to the Blythedale Childrens Hospital to help build a new wing
-The House of Charity also received some funds to help continue to provide housing and meals to those in need

Rob helps support the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation.
Rob also released 'A New York Christmas' single and all proceeds raised go toward the Foundations. This song is usually re-released every year and he has also released it on a USB Wristband.

Rob has also performed at benefits to raise money. One of those being 'A Furry Tail Evening', This was a formal evening with a small private concert by Rob Thomas and Chris Daughtry (seen with Rob and Marisol)

This USB was released originally to help the Blythedale Children's Hospital in 2002. Since then the Charity Single "A New York City Christmas" has become a holiday season hit.
In 2003 is was re released to help Pet's Alive.
All the money raised from sales of the single have gone to The Sidewalk Angels Foundation

Rob Thomas is not only a talented lead singer for the hit band 'Matchbox Twenty' he is also one heck of a solo artist. He also writes his own music. Born in 1972 in Germany to US army parents, his parents split when he was young and he grew up with his siblings around his grandparents. He dropped out of school in the 12th grade when he was 17 but has managed to get his G.E.D along the way.
His music career started when he was around 20 years of age. and since then he has sold somewhere in the vacinity of 80 Million albums, now thats outstanding..and what also amazes me is that I am yet to come across one of his songs that I don't like!!!
He does have a child to a relationship he had previously to marrying his Spanish Model wife Marisol in 1999 who was the main female attraction in his hit song 'Smooth' with Santana. She is also the influence for his smash hit 'Her Diamonds" this being because she has an 'auto immune disease' and this was one way for him to express his feelings about this. Rob has stated in an interview that he likes to keep his personal life just as it is - personal. He said that his songs are personal enough and people get to listen to them.
He is very dedicated to helping out other as you can tell by this lens.
