Something for everyone
In 2006 I went on the road and landed in Sierra County, New Mexico. Although I've been here an entire year I haven't begun to exhaust all the wonderful things to explore in this "enchanting" part of the Southwest. No matter what you enjoy, you are bound to find something here you will love. The landscape, the weather, the outdoor recreation, the art and artists, the events, the food - I could go on and on. And I do. So I have created this lens to be a central index for all the many lenses I am going to inflict upon Squidoo about my beloved Sierra County, New Mexico.
Just a few things to do in Sierra County
- Explore the Geronimo Museum
- Ski, boat, or fish in the 47 mile long Elephant Butte Lake
- Soak in the healing hot springs in Truth or Consequences, NM
- Go to the famous Hatch Chile Festival and munch out on delicious Mexican food made with hot hot hot Hatch Chiles
- Attend the Sierra County Fair to see the livestock and contests
- Visit the art galleries and wonderful little eclectic shops in Truth or Consequences
- Birdwatch, or dragonfly watch at the Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge
- Relax and watch a spectacular sunrise or sunset, or stay up late and admire the stars like you've never seen them before in our clear New Mexico sky.
