Tips to Get You Started Signing For Hymn

Make sure you have good books to learn from. Look up phrases you want to learn and practice them daily.
Attend a church with a deaf ministry and sit in that section for worship service. Sign along! Its okay-nobody's really watching to see if you get it all right. Practicing every Sunday will make it familiar to you. We started doing this several years ago, before we even had a real interest in signing and this is where we feel that we did most of our learning.
As they say "practice makes perfect".

Wow -- what a resource! This is great. Psalm 134 has long been a favorite passage of mine, but I never thought that Psalm 134:2 ("Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord") could be applied this way! I am Lensrolling you to all 14 of my hymn lenses, and I'd love to feature your videos as well with a link back to you. Presently I am working on my 15th hymn lens, and I'm sure y'all have signed "Amazing Grace" at some point. Drop me a line at your convenience -- great work!

Oh -- congrats on becoming a Giant Squid!

What a wonderful resource!! I've been pushing for sign language in bible school myself because I think its well worth it. I've been doing ASL for two years now and I've even taught it to my children. My two year old is so brilliant because of it. I teach it to all the kids in my daycare and it makes my life a lot easier. I'm going to lens roll this to:
Teach Your Children Sign Language. 5 stars for you!!
