Business Signage
Signs Create Your Identity
Did you ever wonder why companies from the smallest to huge corporations spend good money to develop logotypes and signatures? Simple. If properly done, they establish the company's identity in the minds of customers, suppliers and employees alike. They use them on letterheads, mailing labels, packaging and even on their products. And some of the really big guys spend megabucks to do it and keep that image at the forefront.
Is a store, a supermarket, a bank or an auto dealership any different? No they're not. Retail or wholesale, every business needs to keep their name in front of their customers and prospects in every way that they can. The next time you go to a mall or a shopping center, take a good look around at the different signs on all the businesses. Some may be on the roof or even on the windows and doors. Some are simple and others are quite complex with lighting, neon or even signage in motion. The way the sign is presented creates an image of what the business is like. That sticks in a customer or prospects mind even if they aren't actually aware of it.
Where do these signs come from? Just about anywhere from a simple letterer working on a shop window to engineering masterpieces that are hard to miss under any conditions. There are firms that specialize in helping a business determine the image they wish to project. The design firm will have their art directors prepare visuals of what the finished signs will look like. One such company is Signtronix. Once the design is approved by the customer, they provide an estimate and proceed to physically design, construct and install the signage. The finished product will serve as an important beacon to attract customers and it's image is often heavily reinforced by advertising in newspapers, magazines, television and on internet websites Years ago, billboards were everywhere for just this purpose. There are far fewer today due to environmental concerns that gave rise to nationwide rules and regulations about w where billboards are permitted.
Never discount the importance of business signage. They create important name recognition.
