Silk Road Cooking: A Vegetarian Journey by Najmieh Batmanglij
This is not only a phenomenal vegetarian cookbook, but an excellent cultural book as well. You will learn about the culture and food of countries from the Mediterranean and on through Central and East Asia.
The recipes are simple and easy to follow, while being absolutely delicious. Your friends will think you have slaved over a stove all day to create these dishes, but they're really quite simple!
Another feature that I love about Silk Road Cooking: A Vegetarian Journey is the fact that the photos are so breathtaking. You'll find yourself drooling over the photos of the dishes, and also inspired by the amazing photographs from the areas were the recipes came from!
Ever since I've started eating raw and living food, I've missed the recipes from this book. I can honestly say that of all the cooked food that I miss, these recipes are some of the foods I miss the most. I still use these recipes when I have friends or family visit. Everyone loves these dishes, even my father who is a real meat-and-potatoes guy!
Don't miss this one. I give it 5/5 stars!
