Silly And Cute Halloween Costume Ideas

Throw caution to the wind with these fun costumes

Halloween is the one time of year when you can really throw caution to the wind, dress up in cute and silly costumes and clown around, have a great time and not feel one ounce of guilt or shame about it. It's the one time of year when you can actually get away with something like that and still be taken seriously the next day, whether you're a kid or an adult. And selecting your costume is all a big part of that fun, whether you choose to purchase one or make your own. The following are a partial list of just some of the costumes available that will make your friends turn green with envy:

Ideas For Everyone

A smartie candy costumeDog the Bounty Hunter: This gruff, mullet-headed muscle man is dedicated to hunting down criminals who are on the lam and bringing them to justice, and he also makes a great Halloween costume, which also makes for a great conversation piece. Costumes of Dog's wife, Alabama Secretary of State Beth Chapman, are also available, making Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth Chapman the perfect couple's costume.

Twilight characters: The Twilight films have become a phenomenon with America's teen culture, and it's theme of vampirism, combined with hip, handsome or beautiful teens provides the perfect cocktail for preferred Halloween costumes. You can select from any of the film saga's main characters and head out into the twilight to your Halloween party or for a little trick-or-treating.

Baby: The one time of year you can get away with being a big baby is on Halloween, with a baby costume that is. The best thing about this costume is its simplicity: a one-piece sleeper that zips up the front, a baby bottle or pacifier, rattle and you're ready to go!

The baby costume is quite the attention getter, so if your plan isn't to draw too much attention to yourself, you may want to think again before going with this costume, otherwise you may find yourself crying like a baby.

The Hippie and Disco Costume

You have got to love the 70's

It can be fun to go as your favorite Saturday Night Fever character or even as a 60's hippie - you have to love granola. Many people will have disco costumes in their closets. Yes, that means you! And actually I have seen many of today's fashions draw from the whole 70's era.

A few more ideas

childrens hobo costumeMom and Pop: For the kids who are in all too a hurry to grow up, or just want to poke a little fun at the adult world, there's the mom and pop getup that's always good for a laugh. A perusal of thrift stores could turn up pants, shirts, hats, dresses, and shoes. Prop plastic cigars and glasses are great accessories, and don't forget to throw in a cane or a wheelchair to make the adults feel how old they are getting. All in all, a fun costume for couples. And adults: Please have a sense of humor on this one. Happy face!

Hobo: This is about as simple as it gets when it comes to costumes. Old, ragged clothing and shoes with dirt and holes in them will do just fine. Next, find or buy an old fedora or bowler hat, which can oftentimes be found in thrift stores, and then get a stick and loop a cloth or, for better effect, a polka-dotted bandana tied to its end to serve as a bindle for carrying personal belongings.

So there you have it! A partial list of great Halloween costumes to get you on your way to a great holiday season!

Too Early For Santa?

A santa costume

Some people will even show up to a Halloween party as Santa. Yep, you heard right, a Santa Claus outfit and costume Do you think they should dress as Santa during Halloween? I think it adds a whole lot more fun to the holiday. But then again thats just me. Ho ho ho.
