Meet Simon!

Simon was one of the many foster kittens that we cared for this summer. He was everyone's favorite and today he has a forever home with us, but everyone thinks that he is their Simon.

My husband, son, and daughter all claim that he is their cat. Both of my children talk about taking Simon with them when they move away. My husband says that he who cleans the letterbox owns the cats, since he has that fun job. I just smile, knowing that Simon obviously loves me the most because I'm his Momma and I provide the best cuddles.

I hope you will enjoy meeting My Simon and reading about his life with us.

Simon's Human Mom

Simon's Human MomI've been an animal lover forever. I was the little girl that was constantly bringing home lost or injured pets or even wild animals and always asking my Mother if we could keep them. Fortunately, I was raised by a family of animal lovers, so we always lived in a house with at least a few pets. When I was a little girl we also fostered and found homes for a large number of homeless kittens. I loved every minute of it.

Today, I'm (technically) a grown-up and I'm happily married and the mother of two human children, and the surrogate mom for a wide variety of fur kids, from Cats and Dogs, to ferrets. My husband and I are working to reduce the number of homeless and feral cats in our area by working hard to trap, neuter, and release the feral adults and rehabilitating the kittens and finding permanent homes for them.

Where did Simon come from?

Simon and ZeldaSimon was one of many wild kittens that we captured, neutered, and fostered last Summer. My Mother has a feral cat colony living on her property, so my husband and I took care of trapping, neutering, and releasing the feral adults.

However, some of the cats were pregnant and the kittens needed to be socialized, neutered, and adopted out, so that the colony would not grow in size. Simon was one of those kittens, but everyone fell in love with him instantly! Before we knew it, Simon was a permanent member of our family.

How did we come up with Simon's name?

Simon Loves His WubbaSimon's name came to me immediately. He just looked like a Simon for some reason. He was always the kitten with the most personality and the name just fit. Everyone agreed and he seemed to learn his name right away.

I call him Silly Simon.

Fun with Simon

Simon and the Hugga WubbaSimon loves to snuggle, but he also loves to play. He can turn anything into a toy and we often find him kicking his found treasures around the house. Simon is also a naughty toilet tissue killer. One of his favorite tricks is to sneak up on an unsuspecting roll of tissue and shred it.

Hugga Wubba toys are among his favorite toys to carry around. Simon also loves boxes, especially those that are just a little too small for him.
Wrestling is one of his favorite activitites. He wrestles people, toys, other kittens, other animals, you name it.

I Love that Simon is such a happy, snuggly cat.

Kittens are adorable and make the best pets

ShirlW says:

I love watching kittens play. Their antics are so naively funny.

KimGiancaterino says:

I still think of my cats as kittens, though all of ours are over 10 years old now.

Adult cats are calmer and make nicer pets

Laniann says:

Kittens and cats are both adorable. I love them all.

MJSchrader says:

Kittens are sweet, but they only stay a kitten for so long. Soon they are adults and develop personalities that make them friends and companions.

JanetClifford says:

Both are great, but I love them when they have fully developed their personalities at 12 months and they are still kittenish but not crazy!!

WordCustard says:

Kittens are so gorgeous and a lot of fun but they are more cuddly once they have grown up and know when to keep their claws in! Older cats have a lot to offer.

Tipi says:

I love them all, who can choose! I guess I'll go with adult since that lasts longer, but the babes are so preciousQ

Cats LOVE Hugga Wubba's! They have a irresistible scent and feel. They are also the perfect size and share for cats to hug and kick, or carry around and play fetch with. They make a fun jingle noise when one shakes them and the cats come running to play with them.
