Perfect Comedy Duo

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are currently the funniest UK comedy duo around. One went to acting school and the other worked in a restaurant for eight years, yet they fit together perfectly. One supplies the dry wit and the other stupidity. So here's a page devoted to the now famaous pair.

Spaced

The series that began it all

Clever sit-come about a two strangers, Tim Bisley (Simon Pegg) and Daisy Steiner (Jessica Hynes) who pretend to be partners so that they can get a flat. At first glance there's nothing special about it, but thanks to the perculiar editing and dozens of movie references in every episode, it comes off as great. Especially because the level of detail put into the characters by the actors. This was Nick Frost's first television appearance, so at first his role as the commando wannabe Mike Watt isn't that big, but by the second series he supplies most of the comedy and really makes the part his own.

Shaun of the Dead

The Rom-Zom-Com

The first film the pair starred in, and possibly the funniest of all time. Some would describe this as a zombie movie parody, but its much more.
By now Pegg and Frost had formed an understanding with their director from Spaced, Edgar Wright, and the three had molded their own style of comedy. Said to be the funniest film of 2004, this was a suprise hit and launched the pair to stardom.
Funnily enough, some say it is actually a sequelto Spaced, because it contains many of the same characters, and mimics the epiose where Tim get high on E, plays Resident Evil and then thinks zombies are attacking his house. Classic.

Hot Fuzz

By 2007 Frost and Pegg proved they weren't just the guys from Spaced anymore. This time there was bigger budget and higher expectations. They risked it by making a parody of the the Hollywood actioncaper, and thankfully it paid off. Though some say the first half hour is very slow, after that it's a non-stop thrill ride filled with every cliche you can think off, cheesy kill off lines and hundred of references to action movies. It carries the same combination of dry humour used in their previous creations, and the funny action scenes just add to the movie.High points include a two footed kick to an old women's face and police team having a shoot-out in Somerfields. Hailed as a masterpiece, its recently come out on DVD and I recommend you buy it. Now.
