Simon Baker stars as "The Mentalist" " Patrick Jane"
Simon Baker is an Australian actor currently starring in the CBS award winning police drama "The Mentalist". He stars as Patrick Jane, an independent consultant, who aids the CSI (California Bureau of Investigation) in solving police crimes by his skills in observation and mentalist abilities.
Simon Baker received a nomination for a 2009 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor on "The Mentalist". The 61st Prime Time Emmy Awards Show took place in Los Angeles on September 20, 2009. The award for Outstanding Lead Actor 2009 in a television drama went to Bryan Cranston on AMC's "Breaking Bad". Congratulations to all of the nominees and the award winner Bryan Cranston.
"The Mentalist" won "The Favorite New Drama" award at the 35th People's Choice Awards in January 2009. Also starring on "The Mentalist" is Robin Tunney, as CSI Senior Agent "Teresa Libson". Other returning cast members include Tim Kang, Owain Yeoman and Amanda Righetti.
Simon Baker is also starring in the remake of the Old 1927 Hitchcock movie "The Lodger" (2009) which was released on DVD February 10th, 2009. Also watch for Simon Baker in two more upcoming films in 2009, "Not Forgotten", an Independent Thriller Film and "Women in Trouble", a Comedy Film. Simon Baker is currently filming a new movie "The Killer Inside Me", a Thriller Film, scheduled for release in 2010.

"The Mentalist" is a police crime drama on CBS which made it's television debut last fall on September 22, 2008.
This popular police crime drama returned for a second second this fall on September 24, 2009 at 10pm ET/PT on CBS in the US and on September 22, 2009 at 10pm ET/PT on CTV in Canada. "The Mentalist" is the Number 1 new show from last season. It is up against "Jay Leno" on NBC and "The Practice" on ABC in the 10pm time slot on Thursday evenings.
"The Mentalist" has currently been nominated for a 2009 British Crime Thriller Award for "Independent International TV Dagger". The awards will be presented by the British Crime Writer's Association to take place in Britian on October 21, 2009. Good Luck to the "Mentalist".

This is the first award for "The Mentalist".

- I just recently started watching the Mentalist. I didn't know that Simon Baker was in The Devil Wears Prada! I will have to watch it again. He is obviously a very versatile actor. Congrats on the well deserved Purple Star my precious friend!
