Sloppy Joe Chili
Simple Chili Recipe No. 2
Here is a chili I concocted one winter evening when I needed a quick supper between homework and basketball practice. It was a hit with my family. Your family will enjoy it too!

- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped green pepper
- 1 large can sloppy joe sauce
- 1 can kidney beans
- 1 can garbanzo beans (or substitute another bean)

Brown hamburger with onions and green peppers. Drain off fat. Add sloppy joe sauce. Add beans. Simmer. Serve over brown rice.
Children's Chili
Simple Chili Recipe No. 3
This is a good chili for children because it is not spicy. This recipe makes enough for the kids. If you want to serve this to your family, double the recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 onion finely chopped or grated
- 1 8-oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 40-oz. can pork and beans drained
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Brown the gound beef with the onion and drain. In a large saucepan, combine the meat and onion mixture and remaining ingredients. Simmer twenty minutes to allow flavors to blend. Serve with grated cheddar cheese sprinkled on top.

- My hubby makes a really spicy chili and serves it over rice. Growing up, I ate chili with lots of crackers and doused with ketchup. I like chili with cornbread too. Like you said, you can't go wrong with chili.
