What is Your Latte Factor

Tips for Saving Money

A perfect example of "It's not how much you make" is in the latte factor. What happened is a group of coworkers were sitting around and complaining about having no money. They were all paid very well but were always broke. So for the period of one week they tracked all their spending and found that each day they spent $20 to $30 on things that they could do with out.
Four dollar coffee at Star Bucks with a muffin. Eight dollars for lunch and then back to Star Bucks with the group for an afternoon break. This was happening every day. So $20 per day, that is $100 a week or $400 per month.
So one of the first tips for saving money is find out what your latte factor is and reduce it. You don't need to stop hanging out with people, just try and limit what you spend and how often you do spend.

War on DebtOf all the tips for saving money this is the one that will let you break free from the slavery of debt. First thing to do is to make a list of all your bills and payments. You should be paying something on all of them or trying to combine several into one. Now pick one usually the lowest and attack it and get it paid off. Lets say to do this you are paying $75 a month on it.
When you are free of that payment, tackle the next one. Lets say it is $100 per month. If you take the $75 you have from the first bill and go and spend it you will never get all your debt paid off, especially the larger ones. The secret here is, now that you have paid off the first one apply the $75 from that to the second bill. Your payment on the second should now be $175 per month. This is a pattern that you continue, can you see how powerful it can be.
