Anyone Can Go Green!
Many people think about being environmentally friendly, but decide it is too much work, or costs too much. The simple fact is, however, that anyone can live green. Even small children can learn to take steps to live in a more eco-friendly manner and it's far easier than you might imagine.
On this lens you'll learn how you can make tiny changes in your day to day life that will have a big impact on the environment. You don't have to change everything you do, but one change at a time can make a difference.

5 Quick Ideas to Go Green
1. Change your light bulbs. The new energy saving ones can save up to 80% energy over their lifetime and many last for years. Look for the "yellow" light bulbs if you aren't comfortable with the cold white light. These feel like tungsten models, but save energy.
2. Use green cleaning products. These may cost a little more, but they are often worth it. You can also use vinegar and baking soda for many of your cleaning needs.
3. Wash your clothes in cold water. Most clothing will get just as clean if you just use cold water.
4. Combat pollution by planting flowers. Having plenty of greenery in your yard and home will help replenish oxygen levels and break down carbon dioxide.
5. Buy unbleached paper products. White toilet paper and cardboard has been treated with bleach. It's an easy thing to switch and you will skip the nasty chemicals.
These are all so easy that you really have no excuse for not taking steps to become more eco-friendly!
Eco-Friendly Grocery Bags
Add another green aspect to your life by purchasing reusable fabric bags and taking them to the supermarket with you. You'll save a lot of plastic or paper bags and the fabric ones can easily be rewashed!

Start Them Young!
Kids can help sort recyclables, learn to choose products with less packaging and help clean with green products. They'll remember this as they grow and the next generation is the one that will have the power to save the earth. It's important to teach kids now to take action to protect their environment.
Our children are the future and they learn from our example. Even if you don't have kids of your own, you can set a good example to those children in the area who see you take out the trash and recyclables, etc.
