Simple Ideas and Designs For Face Painting

A little background about myself: as the mother of a 6 and 8 year old, you can probably guess that I've been to many school functions and activities. Our family has always been involved with face painting, and my kids and I love bringing that fun and creativity to these events!

Can you guess who the star attraction is at every school event, community festivals and charity functions we attend? You're right!

Face painting is so easy, and not only is it fun for both you and your kids, it's a rewarding experience that you can enjoy with your family for years to come.

There are so many aspects to face painting, novice and expert alike. So I'm going to share a few simple ideas and tips to get you started in the right direction!

Tip #1)  Use Quality Paints. Skimping on paint quality will make the whole process longer and frustrating. Also make sure the paints you buy are designed for the face!

Tip #2) Don't use cheap brushes. Spend a few bucks on a couple quality paint brushes. You'll be able to reuse them for years to come!

Tip #3) Find a few designs to practice and perfect them! It's unnecessary to spread your talents throughout hundreds of designs. By perfecting a few key designs, you'll look like a hero to all the kids!

Tip #4) Don't be afraid to make mistakes! Practice makes perfect, and you ARE going to make mistakes along the road. Kids are generally forgiving and so is the paint. Many paints are also "erasable" so don't worry!

Tip #5) Have fun! Face painting can be a very therapeutic and creative exercise for you.

There you have it.

While you're here check out one of my Absolute Favorite "E-Guides" about face painting. I'm not one to "sell", but I refer people to this guide all the time, and they love it! It's got everything you need to get started, including bunches of easy-to-follow designs, setting you up for instant face painting success.

Why Face Painting?

Here Are Four Great Reasons Why You Should Learn Face Painting

Creativity - Face painting is not only fun, but it's a very therapeutic activity for you. Bringing out your creative side will set a great example to your child, and will help them bring out their creative side too!

Attention - Let's face it. Our children love attention, and they love it from their parents! When you're involved in a face painting project with your child all attention is focused on them. It's a great bonding experience that your child will remember for years.

Individuality - In a world where children are constantly exposed to conform to society ie, the right clothes and toys, face painting is a great way to express their individuality and creativity.

Fun - Having your face painted is just plain fun. And is there any sweeter look than the quick glances that kids take of themselves in the mirror after a face painting session? That little smirk on their face is priceless!

Truthfully, there are many more reasons to take up face painting. And it's never too late.

If you're ready to get started, be sure to check out my favorite E-Guide about face painting. I really can't say enough good things about it.

Face Painting - Where To Start?

If you're confused as to how and where to start your face painting career, don't be discouraged. You've come to the right place.

For starters, I recommend picking up yourself a good book or guide. I always recommend 'Easy Face Painting' by Joanne Westcott, located Here.

There are also many resources on the internet that can help you get started and on the right path. However, the best way to learn is to buy yourself some paints and brushes and dig in!!
