What's New in Sims 3

Sims 3 borrows from all of the things people liked about the first two games, and adds on a new look, along with several huge new features.

In the Sims 3, you can zoom in and out of town view

Town View
Sims 3 features the new ability to zoom in and out of a massive town, see what's happening, or actually walk a character anywhere and everywhere - something that simply was never possible before. In The Sims 3, the town is actually seamless - that is, there are no borders separating sections of the town. It's just one huge block that you can move freely around in! Not only does this open up the "game world" of the Sims, but it makes for a huge number of new random possibilities and things to look at while taking a stroll.

Sims 3 characters make an impact on the rest of the town

One Character...Making An Impact
Finally, a single character has the ability to effect the entire neighborhood. The actions you perform can positively or negatively impact others, elsewhere. As you jump from home to home, you'll actually discover these changes happening, depending on who else is affected by them.

Sims 3 gameplay features side quests where you decide the outcome

Side "Quests"
Preliminary discussions mentioned that Sims will occasionally be presented with a short-term opportunity, and you will be able to decide whether that opportunity does or does not work out. Both will result in separate, noticeable conclusions. By completing both short-term and long-term goals for a Sim, you'll continue to develop their character toward new goals and features.

Sims 3 features Create A Sim, letting you customize Sims down to the finest detail

Ridiculous Customization: Create A Sim
The level of detail put into Sim creation is limitless. You'll be able to fine tune every single aspect of a Sim, from height and weight, to facial features (width of eyes, nose, chin shape, hair color and style) to a whole new level. Physical appearance and clothing (including fashion accessories) are the two main categories that will have a huge amount of customization in Sims 3.

Sims 3 has a Personality Simulator that lets you mix and match personality traits for individual Sims

The Sims 3 Personality Simulator
A new Personality Simulator lets you tag on up to 5 personality traits to each Sim (and a long line of them, at that). By mixing and matching personality traits: whether its Clumsy, Brave or Snobbish, you can truly create unique, individual Sims!

Sims 3 home customization gives you limitless possibilities

Home Customization
The ever-popular home building mode is enhanced, especially when it comes to your homes' interiors: change and add colors and patterns to everything from furniture, wallpaper, flooring, even doors, molding and other furnishings, to match whichever motif you have in mind. Looks like you won't need to be a Photoshop pro anymore, all of the tools you need are built into the game!
