Almost all the major hotel brands are in Singapore. Singapore hotels are generally concentrated around the city or near city areas. Prices can range from less than S$100 to a few hundred Singapore dollars for a normal hotel room. If partying is something you enjoy doing, you should head towards the famous St James Power Station, which houses many different types of pubs/discos within one establishment.
Be adventurous and explore the various foods available. There are simply too many available to list down, but bear in mind cheap food does not mean bad food. There are many local fares which are simply delicious and yet very well affordable.
Another Singapore's "national pastime" is eating and shopping. Head towards Orchard Road and Scotts Road shopping belt where you can find almost any brands imaginable.

Bear in mind that Singapore is not a big country, in fact, many say it is a city-state. You will be able to get around the island with its impressive train system (MRT or Mass Rapid Transit), which will bring you to almost all parts of the island. Travelling by cabs or taxis are very affordable as well. You should not be paying more than S$20 - S$30 per trip, most trips are about S$10 - S$20 per way and they are very easily available.
Have this in mind when you are choosing the hotel. If it means spending say S$50 on taxi trips per day, and you are saving S$100 - S$150 on your hotel room prices, it makes economical sense to do so, book a Singapore hotel which is slightly further away. It could well mean you are adding an extra S$100 to your daily expenditure while you are there.
