My name is JacqueJoy. I am a professional watercolor artist with hundreds of collectors both here and abroad. I am art school trained, but continue to learn more each time I touch brush to paper. The most exciting part is the absolute joy I feel when I paint, and my greatest wish is that everyone who views my work catches the joy.

I've been in love with watercolor since the first time I tried it. I love that it flows and glows and allows light to shine through the paint. I love all the happy accidents, and the fact that no matter how many techniques you've learned, when you are painting in watercolor, you are always skating on the razor's edge, a heartbeat away from disaster. That makes successes sweet indeed.

I paint in watercolor because it is the medium that best allows me to express the relationship between light and shadow. It offers nuances of color that are impossible to achieve in any other medium, and it is a constant challenge. I love a challenge!

My ebay id is singingcolor. I chose it because that is what I strive to achieve when I paint.  If color sings, it reaches out to the viewer; breaks language and cultural barriers and brings us all closer.

I work with colored pencils, pen & ink, watercolor, and acrylics to create art in small format. I strive to create art that looks nice and neat even when your nose almost touches the paper, which is why it takes me many hours to complete one piece. Art is freedom...I love how anything is possible on paper.

The Art of Amy Weber
I attempt to make art that has some value in this world beyond a monetary one-to make art that does something about the current problems/issues in the world. If all else fails I like to make work that illustrates the beauty and simplicity of a centered connection with that which is eternal. My miniature paintings are a sort of representation of my internal being/soul/mythos. In a world that seems chaotic and unstable these tiny paintings almost create themselves.

"I now have art placed throughout the US and Internationally. It is a great honor to have others enjoy my art. I believe the best art makes me "feel". My goal with my art is to lead the viewer into the moment, directing them back to The Creator and hopefully stirring emotions within - whether it is sadness, melancholy, peace or joy!"
wildthreadstudio
I combine quilted focal pieces with painted canvases, beads, wires, vintage objects or any other found object that catches my eye.

Watercolor books I recommend and some on my wish list!

One of the things I love about watercolor is that you can never learn all there is to know about it. That makes acquiring and studying new books on the subject great fun for all artists, whether they are just beginning or experienced. You might try some of these to increase your knowledge of the elusive art that I love!
