Single Mother Scholarships
Seeking single mother scholarships is a challenge. The good thing is you are not alone and there are scholarships for single mothers out there. Watching your kids grow and go to school can give you the time to consider the opportunity of returning to school. It doesn't matter whether the decision to return to school is based on updating skills or a change in careers, it will only benefit you both personally and make you more marketable in the workplace. Sometimes it's not as easy to make the transition back to school if you are older but there are plenty of others doing the same thing. Age really shouldn't be a factor. In fact, there are many women returning to school at 45 years of age.
No doubt you have already stared thinking about college tuition and you may have already come to the conclusion that it can be pretty expensive. Being a single mother, there are additional expenses you need to think about on top of the school fees. If your kids still need childcare, that is an expense you need to consider. These costs are often 1/3 of a woman's weekly pay and if she has two children the cost nearly doubles. Regardless, there are many women who are rising to the challenge.
So now, you will be faced with the same questions that other incoming college students face - how will you pay for your education? These are some tips to get you started looking for the funds you need.
