Sing With Elvis Presley and Record Your Song As A Christmas eCard!

You are probably wondering, "How the heck am I going to record my voice with Elvis Presley's?" Well, the answer is simple. You just need to visit Sony BMG's site by following the link shown below. Once you have arrived at the appropriate page, it is pretty straightforward.

You just choose 'Record with Elvis,' then pick Record 'Blue Christmas' with Elvis and finally "Send a Christmas e-card with your duet to a friend." (You can also choose to send an e-card with Elvis and Martina McBride's voices if you are feeling shy about recording your own voice.)

Anyway, assuming you do want to record your own voice, you choose Select and you will be told to call a telephone number and enter the 7-digit code which appears on the screen. The words to Blue Christmas will appear on screen for you to sing along with and the hard part is done.

There are no charges to make this short recording - besides any telephone charge. Your voice, raised in tune with Elvis', will be sent to whomever you like in an e-mail.

While visiting Sony BMG's page, you can also choose to listen to some other clips from the Christmas Duet album. LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson and Wynonna Judd. Finally, you can enjoy the video of Elvis and Martina McBride singing Blue Christmas.

If you want to make a recording with Elvis, it might be helpful to know the following:

The king is absolutely a gentleman and so is his assistant. They made the process of recording my first ever recording with Elvis so EASY!

I dialed the number given to me at the site for Singing with the King (you'll find the link elsewhere on this page) and input the seven-digit code that was provided. I listened carefully to the instructions (they were really pretty simple) and then I sang. (That was the painful part.)

Although the words are provided, it is helpful to be at least a tiny bit familiar with Blue Christmas. At least listen to the song in the three videos on this page.

When you call, make sure to sing loudly. I had to call a second time as the first time was not audible. However, you can avoid having to call back by listening to your recording BEFORE you hang up. Oops, I missed that the first time.

Once you are happy with your recording or at least willing to settle for the sound of your own voice, you approve your recording, hang up the telephone and return to your computer for further instructions.

You can listen to your recording right away and then choose send. You will be prompted for the details on who you want to send your recording to (I sent it to myself.) Then Sony BMG sends an e-mail to the recipient with a link to...your very own recording of Blue Christmas!

And oh, yes, I was certainly wondering what are the charges were going to be for this service. I am happy to report, none -- except for the long-distance telephone call. (I assume it is not a toll-free number.) My total telephone time (remember I had to call twice because of my error) was just about 8 minutes.

The end product? A little snippet of yourself singing with the King of Rock 'n' Roll. How cool is that?
