Here's What I Thought Of The Book
With this book, The FlyLady, Marcia Cilley helped me finally get my home and life in order. After I retired, I looked around my home and realized I was living in CHAOS. Why am I capping CHAOS? Because it actually stands for "Can't Have Anybody Over Syndrome." How could I have anyone over? I was afraid they'd never be seen again in all my junk!
I had 30 married years of accumulated life clutter and a new schedule I wasn't really used to. There were boxes of "stuff" we had never unpacked from when we moved IN to our home 10 years ago! As a former collectibles seller on eBay, I had *more* boxes of collectibles and odds and ends that had either never been listed or never sold. A super-sized collection of knick-knacks collected dust. There were boxes in every room! Then, when Mom passed away, I added her stuff to mine. And if we had anything in common, it's that Mom and I were both packrats!
With the FlyLady's simple baby step systems, daily and weekly routines, wonderfully warm pep talks and a SIMPLE timer, gradually my home has found order and I've been able to keep up! What a concept! duh...
I've been FLYing at last. To FLY means Finally Loving Yourself in the beautiful world of The FlyLady. Her book is down to earth, full of tips and humor and best of all, the encouragement to help you realize YOU CAN DO IT! One Baby Step At A Time...
“The perfect book for those of us who weren't born organized and need help controlling the CHAOS!”
What do you think about cleaning, organizing & decluttering *routines*?
Are you a Born Organized who's never had a problem with CHAOS?

I am pretty organized but I hate cleaning. My house has plenty of dust but I don't like a lot of stuff.

I still go back and use Marla Cilley's method to get me back on track, so yes I am sidetracked at times. A SHE I am, still in progress....15 minutes...I love this.

I have my moments of organization, and certain parts of my life are VERY organized. Lots of chaos, though.

I'm half and half. I love being tidy and organised but often I just can't seem to do it. I don't seem to have the knack.

I am continually fighting against chaos. Sometimes I am successful, sometimes or should I say more than sometimes, I am not!

- I love Flylady's system, and Marla is a wonderful person, too. You have several misspellings of her name; it's MARLA, not Maria or Marcia. Please correct them. Other than that, I enjoyed your article.
