Websites For You to See!

Sites You Don't Want to Miss

This is pretty much just a list of cool websites I've come across. It's not a huge list, but to me, quality is worth more than quantity. Plus, I'll add to it every time I find a site worth mentioning. Well, what are you waiting for? Take a peek.

Donate with a Click

All these websites offer the same thing. By visiting their sites and clicking on your mouse, sponsors will donate food, money, and more. Remember to donate your click daily.

At Click to Give, you can help 6 different charities just by clicking on them. And with each click, you earn points that you can redeem for prizes like clothing, jewelry and school supplies. The best thing is that you can View Your Impact and see exactly what each of your clicks has done for each charity.

At The Hunger Site Network you'll find links to 6 more charities that you can help with a click of your mouse.

Kars4Kids
Okay. So this one takes a little more than a click. But it's more than just a donation. Donate your old car (running or not) and they'll give you a tax deductible receipt and a vacation voucher for a free 2-night, 3-day hotel stay at your choice of over 80 resort areas. What they do is sell your car and then give the money to Joy for Our Youth, a national organization dedicated to addressing the educational, material, emotional and spiritual needs of disadvantaged Jewish children and their families.

United Society Donations is another great place to donate your old car (running or not). They can usually pick it up within 48 hours and, after fixing any problems, your car will be given to a family in need. Donating you car here is also tax deductible. Thank you to SarfarazKhan for letting me know about this site.

Socialize with a Twist

Make a stranger smile!

These are all sites that offer a creative way to make friends, socialize, and learn about other cultures.

Post Crossing
Make great friends by sending and receiving postcards from all over the world. My first four postcards were to England, Finland, Sweden and Germany.

Experience Project
Think you're alone in the world? Click here. Tell your story. Find people that have 'been there, done that'. Record your dreams. Write a diary. Make a confession(anonymously). Here, it's not about being cool or what you look like. It's about your life experience. Give it a try.

PenpalNet
Well, duh! It's a penpal site. Fill out a profile and choose who you want to write. They actually make it quite easy.

Personalize your Postcards

A great way to get creative and say hello to a new international friend!

My Reminder to be Kinder

I think we could all use a little reminder to be kind every once in a while. These sites are perfect to show us how a small act of kindness can effect so many lives. September 18 was World Kindness Day. How did you celebrate?

Gift of Kindness
A couple from Florida started this site with an amazing idea. At your request, they'll send you 'kindness cards'. The point is for you to do something nice for someone(friend or stranger) and give them the card. And then, hopefully, they'll pass it on. Amazing how something so simple could change so much.

Do One Nice Thing
Their philosophy? Start your week off right. Every monday, do at least one nice thing for someone. Of course, you don't have to limit yourself to monday....

Do you have a story of kindness?

About two years ago, my truck (with camper attached) broke down 8 miles outside of North Platte, Nebraska. My boyfriend, Ty, went walking towards town while me and my two kids stayed behind. While Ty was walking, one car stopped and the guy gave him a gallon of water (it was 102* outside). Then another car stopped and the guy gave him $40. Then another car stopped. These two men gave Ty a ride back to the camper, then gave all of us a ride to town. We were broke, so these nice men paid for a motel room for us to stay in (a whole week!), and then paid for our truck and camper to be towed to town. Then they called their minister and the church gave us $50 for food. We finally got ahold of someone to pick us up, but they couldn't come right away. So the motel manager let us stay two extra days for free. Our camper had been towed to a parking lot about a mile away. On our last day there, we were making sure everything in the camper was 'road ready'. The owner of the parking lot drove up and asked how we were doing. Instead of being angry about us taking over his lot for a week, he gave us free food coupons for Taco Bell/KFC!
I don't know what we would've done without the kindness of these strangers. I hope they know how grateful I am.
Do you have a story of kindness you'd like to share?

When you're bored....

Try one of these sites

Radio Reference
Listen to police scanners online (live). You can pick any county in the united states (as long as they have a live feed).
Today's big thing
The most awesomest thing on the internet everyday.
Dead at your age
Type in your date of birth and they'll tell you who you've outlived.
How many of me?
Type in your name and it'll tell you how many people have your first name, last name and your whole name (there are 1,545 people with my name). Plus it'll tell you where your name ranks in popularity and give you a list of famous people with your name.
The year you were born
This site will tell you everything that happened the year you were born. This is just what you need to build your The Year I Was Born lens.
Snitch Name
This is really a snooping site. Type in someone's name and it'll search all the social sites, blogs and web pages for any information on that person.
Movie Mistakes
Look up and watch all the mistakes made in your favorite movies.
UpChucky
Turn your computer into a jukebox. Play today's hits or pick a different year to hear the most popular songs for that year. You can even pick between the most popular jukebox hits or the most popular radio hits.
Eyesore of the Month
In their words, they pick one "Architectural Abortion from the USA and Around the World (And Sometimes Other Miscellany Infecting the Landscape)" a month and feature it on their eyesore page. And I gotta say, these are truly ugly.
SquidWords.com

Paid Surveys & GPT sites

These are paid email and paid survey sites. I've signed up for 67 in the last 2 years (which adds up to about 300 spam emails a day) and these are the ones who passed my test. They all pay cash. They all pay a descent amount of cash. And they all pay this cash with minimum hassle.

Quick Rewards
a 'paid email' site. I actually make a descent amount of money with them. They pay for practically every click of the mouse. There's no minimum to cash out and my money gets transferred to paypal the same day I ask for it.

Opinion Outpost
a 'paid survey' site. I get an email every time they have a survey for me, usually 1 or 2 a day. They pay up to $10 per survey, but it's usually around $5-$7. The minimum cash out is $5(but I like to let it build to $25). They send a check every time I request one.

Inbox Dollars
a 'paid email' site. Actually, these guys were my first. Here it is, 2 years later and I'm still cashing checks. They send a check every time my account reaches $30. And they email me every time an offer credits. So it's real easy to keep track of what I've done.

Sidetick
A social networking site that pays me to be a member. I get $15 a month just for opening a daily email and answering a daily blog. I can cash out through paypal whenever my account hits $25.

For more information on these gpt sites please read my lens on How to make a little extra money online

GPTBoycott.Com
If you're unsure about which paid email companies are honest and which are scams, check out this website. They have a watch list and a boycott list. You can also go there if you have a complaint about a GPT website.

Makin Money

DumbLittleMan
This guy listed 40 different websites where you can make money. So what makes his list different from all the rest? No paid surveys. No paid emails. No MLM. No contests. No cd/dvd/book to buy. Well, you get the picture. It's a great list.

DumbLittleMan (again)
And some more ways to make money. I'm starting to think this little man isn't as dumb as he says...

Shop Smarter

Heck! Spend some money.

Anyone who's been on the computer 5 minutes knows about Walmart.com, Overstock.com, and all those other online superstores. But what I've found is that sometimes I save more by shopping the smaller, more specialized stores. Here's where I found my best bargains.

InkPlusToner.com
The only ink store to give Ebay a run for it's money. With free shipping on every order, I got my ink cartridge for only $5.61. (Plus, I ordered through Inbox Dollars and got paid $10!)

Fire Mountain Gems
This is my one stop shop for everything I need to create my own jewelry. From beads to findings, from displays to gift boxes, they have it all. And no matter what I order, shipping is only $5! But don't believe me. Order their free 436 page catalog and see for yourself!

Silver Jewelry Club
You won't find a better deal on rings, pendants and earrings. It's FREE! Well, you have to pay s/h but it's worth it because most of their jewelry has real gemstones.

e.l.f. Cosmetics
This site is unbelievable! They sell high quality make-up for just $1! Everything for your eyes, face, lips and more for only a buck. Since I stumbled on this site, I've said goodbye to buying make-up anywhere else.

Daily Steals
This site is known for having unbelievable deals. They used to sell just one product daily at an unbelievably low price. But now they sell four products a day!

FragranceNet.com
If you wear perfume or cologne, this is where you need to shop! Their prices are the lowest I've seen anywhere. Last year, I was able to get my sister-in-law her favorite perfume (normally $42) for $17. The best way to shop here is to sign up for their emails. They'll send an email when they have free shipping with no minimum purchase (normally anything over $70 ships free). They usually have the free shipping sale 6 or 7 times a year, so you never have to wait long. I just hate to pay for shipping no matter where I shop!

Groupon
I just recently started using Groupon to save money. Groupon is a website that offers amazingly discounted deals. Sometimes it's for a service or store in your hometown and sometimes it's for a website. Most of the deals are for 50% off a selected service or product, but I've seen them get as high as 75% off.

EBAY

For when those smaller, specialty stores just don't cut it

Okay. I admit. I shop Ebay almost everyday. And here's why. It's cheaper!

Sites to help you SAVE money

We all need that

Whoever came up with these ideas is either a genius or they know how lazy we're becoming.

Shortcuts.com
You can register your rewards cards from grocers and pharmacies on this site. Then pick from their large coupon list and they'll transfer the coupons to your cards. No more coupon clipping!

Ebates
Before you shop online, register here and you'll not only save money, you'll even get some back! Use their exclusive coupons to get free shipping and % off.

VacationFun.com
This site has vacation guides from all over the states. Just choose the ones you want and they'll send them to you for free. How does this save you money? Every guide I've received had coupons and discounts for hotels, restaurants and more.

visit save money and get free stuff for even more ways to put money back in your pocket.

Medical Info

I'm actually getting hooked on these sites. I didn't realize how much information I could find out about medications, illness, disease, and 'what could be wrong with me'. These are the sites I found were the easiest to use and had the most information.

MayoClinic.com
A one stop shop for any medical questions you might have. They even have a symptom checker that's actually pretty accurate.

Revolution Health
Another one stop shop for medical info. I have BPD and this was the first site that gave me comprehensive information about it. They also have large store you can browse in.

Drugs.com
Click here for anything you want to know about prescriptions, otc medication, and all natural products. Check for pill interactions. Identify an unknown pill. Find out what you can take for any given condition. This site has it all.

Last week my husband started having pains on the right side of his abdomen. I looked it up and diagnosed him with a tubal pregnancy. He didn't believe me so he saw a real doctor and was told he might have to have surgery. I tell you this as a warning to not use these sites as a substitute for seeing a real doctor.

Too Cool To Categorize

Something Store
Do you want to send yourself a surprise but you don't know how? Shop here! For only $10 (includes shipping) they'll send you something. What do they send? Who knows!? If you're skeptical check out their tracker page to see what they sent out the last 25 days. And I'll let you know what they sent me as soon as I get it. UPDATE Okay. So less than a week after I ordered, I received my something, and it really was a surprise. I got a wine thermometer. I didn't even know they made these!

Softpedia
Tons of free downloads for your computer.

The Phobia List
Did you know there's an actual name for 'the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth'? Or how about 'the fear of things to the left side of your body'? Well, if there's something to be scared of, this list gives it a name. Apparently, I have Achluophobia, Agoraphobia, Amaxophobia, Automatonophobia, Bacteriophobia, Misophobia, Nyctophobia, and last but not least, Thalassophobia. Check it out and give a name to your fears.

Hard to find 1-800 Numbers
This site has every 1-800 number you could possibly want.

Lucy Phone
Once you find that 1-800 number, head on over to lucyphone.com. Just type in the number you want to call, type in a number where you can be reached and then you can do whatever you want. Lucy will wait on the phone until a human answers it. Then she'll connect you to the call. Amazing.

Snopes
Do you like urban legends, old wives tales, and good old fashioned rumors? Then this site is for you. Read the tales. Find out the facts. You'll be hooked.

Gasbuddy.com
Do you want to save money on gas? Then this website is perfect. Find the exact price of gas at almost any gas station anywhere. Totally cool!

Instructables.com
If there's anything you've always wanted to learn, this site will teach you. Or if there's some skill you want to show off, do it here. I couldn't resist teaching everyone how to build a bomb out of fireworks. It's a blast!

National Sex Offender Registry
Lists every sex offender in the states. Get pictures, addresses, any information you need to protect your families. I was shocked at how many sex offenders are living in my hometown.

Freebie Heaven

SquidWords.com
These freebie sites have one requirement for me. They can't contain free offers that require you to take one of those long surveys or require you to complete silver, gold, and platinum offers. If the following sites do contain those type of offers, they're few and far between. And just to show how great they are (and to brag a little), I'm listing everything I get for free. Believe me, you'll be surprised.

Just Free Stuff!

Most of these free offers have directions on what to do (supply business name, register your email...).It couldn't get any easier. And if you register your email, you'll get the newest offers everyday sent straight to your inbox.

MySavings This freebie site is huge! It's filled with easy free offers that come with directions and a blog, so you can read if others received their items before you click on the offer. Believe me, You won't be wasting your time here.

Freecycle
This is a different approach to freebies. Check out the website. I think you'll be happy you did.

The coolest Freebies I've received

Can you believe I got all this in the mail?!

I had to shorten this list to only include the freebies I couldn't believe I got. Listing them all was taking up too much space! So remember, if you see anything you like, you can get it for yourself at
Just Free Stuff!
or MySavings. Most of it's still available.

It's always good to get recommendations for cool sites to visit given the vastness of the world wide web. Google searches don't always give you the best results. I saw some here I'll be going back up to click and visit.

Great list. I used to do surveys then I found Squidoo. No time for surveys now.
