Located next to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hurricane Harbor is a tropical-jungle theme water park. It gives children large and small the chance to frolic all day and get soaking wet. The park includes 22 slides splashing into awaiting pools. You can purchase a special two-park ticket for both Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor. But is almost impossible to do both in a single day.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is a separate admission water park that is located next door to Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari.
With an immersive tropical theme, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey offers more than two-dozen rides and water attractions on 45 acres and is one of America's largest water parks.

Some of the major attractions at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor are a million-gallon wave pool with two to five foot waves, nearly 20 high-speed thrill slides, a two-story water playground and a half-mile-long, 700,000 gallon lazy river. For thrill-seekers, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor offers four separate towers with the latest thrilling water slides, including a 75-foot tall body slide with a vertical descent and 65-foot tall enclosed tube slides that you race down at speeds over 40 mph.

Families can ride together on The Big Bambu and Reef Runner, two enormous, 14-foot wide slides that are six stories tall where you ride in a giant inner-tube.

For younger guests, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor has Discovery Bay, a 30,000 square-foot interactive water playground with tipping water buckets, slides, waterfalls, climbing nets and other surprises.

While Six Flags Hurricane Harbor requires a separate ticket, all three parks can be enjoyed with the purchase of a combination ticket.

Park History

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park is the third park for Six Flags in New Jersey. This highly-anticipated water park opened Memorial Day weekend 2000 with 25 major rides and attractions and an elaborate tropical theme on 45 acres.

Theme park developer Six Flags Inc. said Tuesday it will partner with Dubai-based developer Tatweer to build theme parks across the Arab world.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Six Flags said it will work with Tatweer to create a number of new concepts in the region, including Six Flags theme and water parks, branded restaurants, hotels and retail outlets.

Six Flags said the highlight of the alliance will be a new Six Flags Dubailand, a five million square foot theme park in Dubai.

The theme park will be the first one Six Flags has developed outside of North America, the company said.

The company said the park will feature entertainment like musical group Wiggles and professional skateboarder Tony Hawk as well as thrill and adventure-themed rides.

Six Flags said the Dubailand park will break ground in 2009.

The theme park will be a part of the overall Dubailand project, a 3 billion square-foot development. The project includes tourist attractions, shopping malls, restaurants and residential units.

Six Flags is the latest company interested in developing theme parks in Dubai, which is becoming an international tourist destination.

Last week, the entertainment division of brewer Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. said it will open four theme parks in Dubai. Busch Entertainment Corp. will partner with Dubai developer Nakheel to create the Worlds of Discovery - a complex that will include SeaWorld, Aquatica, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove.
