Who should take this course?

Any coach or small-business owner who wants to be on the Web but is not ready to spend approximately $1000 to have a site professionally designed. Has a prospective client ever asked you for your website address? Have you ever wished you could hand someone a business card while confidently saying "go to my website for more information?" Do you have a minimal amount of budget to invest in this part of your business? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions then this class is your opportunity to create that reality without breaking the bank.

I'm not a programmer! How can I build my own web page?

If you are comfortable using Microsoft Word, reading email, and surfing the Web, you will be able to create a web page using the tools we will teach you. You don't need any programming skills or special software.

What if I want more than a one-page site?

With the tools you'll be learning, you can have a one page site, or many pages. It's up to you. And deciding what you need right now. We promise to help you think about the "typical" stuff you'd find on a website so you can decide if you want that for yours. We promise to give you a plan to help you develop between 5 and 10 initial blog posts if you want a blog.

Well which is it: a blog, a website or both?

Yes. Yes and Yes. Impossible, nope. And we'll show you how to do it. If you want a blog, you'll create a blog. If you want a website, we'll show you how to get all the "bloggy" stuff off and some other cool tricks.

Can I start with a one-page site and expand it later?

If you are just getting in to the big WWW pool, creating a single page on the web with your contact info may be a good-enough goal! And, if you want to grow into your self and your business, you can easily make make changes and add to your website at your own pace.

Will I need any special skills or equipment to take this course?

All you need is a telephone and a computer, and an Internet connection (preferably Broadband or DSL) that allows you to be online while you are talking on the phone. You will need to be comfortable using a web browser (including switching from one tab to another) and a word-processing program (including basic functions like cutting and pasting) in order to write your web copy. And you'll need to be able to follow on-screen directions with initial demonstration from the class instructor. We're confident you can do it!

What will I need to do to prepare for the course?

In addition to the in-session live demonstrations, written homework assignments will be given throughout the course. Prior to our first class session, participants will receive a written assignment. Here's a partial sample of the type of homework you can anticipate:

* Why do you want a web page?
* What do you think your business will gain from having a web page?
* What would you personally like to gain from this class?
* What is your favorite site (or top 3 or 5) and why?
* What site(s) do you NOT like and why?

What happens after I complete the course? Is there continued support offered?

Exactly how much time will I need to set aside to complete homework assignments during the workshop?

Each week, we'll spend regular class time together which is about 60-minutes of teaching and 15-minutes of Q&A (but it's not all super precise either). In some sessions there will be interactive exercises. After every session, there will be opportunities for you to "do stuff" (spend time looking at stuff on the web, building your website, answering questions we provide you, etc. ) Depending on the type of work involved (like asking yourself those deeper questions of what sustains me?), each "thing" has a unique time investment of time/thought/introspection. Suffice it to say, prepare to give yourself at least a couple extra hours per week outside our scheduled class time to be in the creation process itself.

Mac or Windows?

Yes! Or both. Wendy handles the Mac side of the house and Mynde, the Windows side. Either way, you are so covered.
