Skate 2 features double the amount of tricks than there were in the original Skate, including foot-plants, hand-plants, crail slides, fingerflips, lip tricks, ollie norths,hippie jumps and lastly the ability to skitch (pulling on the bumper of a moving car while on a skateboard to gain speed). Players can also get off their board and walk. While on foot, players can move certain objects in the world, creating their own spots. (read more).

Activision's Tony Hawk series has long been revered for being the best pixelated skating experience hands down. Through the years there have been numerous challengers trying to dethrone the reigning champ. With the release of skate, many skateboarding fans have found themselves grinding right past Tony Hawk. Well, EA's back with skate 2, which just released yesterday. So, here's our question to you, which game is better, Tony Hawk or skate? I like skate, but i've been playing the Tony Hawk series since number 1, and i love this game. skate can walk in and try to do it better, but they'll have to significantly raise the bar. And tony hawk has better tricks.

I love the Tony Hawk games, but there is no way someone can pull those tricks off, especially 6 tricks in one jump. Now Skate it is much harder to pull off the tricks and can land 1 or 2 like in real life.

- Defying expectations of a March 2009 release date, EA sent word that Skate 2, the sequel to the popular skateboarding game, will hit stores in North America on January 21, 2009 and the world two days later.
- Where can I download a skate 2 demo?
- EA has announced a demo of Skate 2, the game about urban children's preferred mode of transport, is coming to both 360 and PS3. The playable sections of New San Vanelona will be arriving on Xbox Live Marketplace on Jan 8th. The Playstation Network version will follow on a week later.

Review Skate 2
The multiplayer modes rock and new modes like Hall of Meat are a ton of fun. The realism feel is great when it comes to technical aspects like tricks and controls but it's taken one step too far. If I wanted to get harassed by security and constantly get intimate with the asphalt, I would go hop on a skateboard in real life.

- skate 2 is the best skateboard game out tony hawks may have a better story line but skate 2 is a far better game focusing on the analog stick movement not buttons which is much better for more realistic tricks
