The deck is the wood part of the skateboard that the trucks and the wheels are attached to (if you didn't already know that). Decks come in all shapes in sizes. It can be tricky to find the perfect deck that fits you just right. This lens will go over different types of decks and sizes to aid you in your journey to find the perfect deck that fits you and your style perfectly.

Transition and Vert decks
If you like to skate in half pipes or pools, it helps to have your deck be about 8.25 inches wide or bigger depending on the sizes of your feet. The wider the deck, the more stable it will be. Which helps a lot when dropping in on tall half pipes or into deep pools. But, you won't want a deck that is way to big for you. If you do get a deck that is to big for you may find it hard to control and maneuver. Street and Technical decks
For technical and street skating you may find it easier to do flip tricks and grinds if your deck is about 7.5 inches to 8 inches wide. Smaller boards are easier to flip and get off the ground than larger boards. But, if your board is to smaller, it will be hard to keep you balance when landing a trick, which can be bad when trying to trick off of something tall. So, it is important to get a deck that you can comfortably maneuver and land tricks on. Park decks
If you like to skate at skateparks, any deck that you can comfortably land tricks on and maneuver well work just fine. Skateparks, are for the most part a mixture of street and vert. Cruising Decks
If you just like to ride around and go fast you could get any size of skateboard deck or a longboard. Impact Support decks
Almost skateboards is the only company (as of right now) that does Impact Support. They put soft shock absorbing discs inside most of their skateboards, right above the trucks. Impact support helps absorb most of the impact from your landings, which can help your board by reducing cracks in your board, and it helps your feet out by reducing the shock. This can help a lot when you ollie down stairs or off of big ledges.Impact support decks are also good for every day use too. Almost has came out with many different board series that have the Impact support, so there are many decks to choose from that have impact support.

Uber light decks
Almost skateboards is the only brand to make Uber light skateboards. It is Almost's newest and greatest product. It was created and designed by Rodney Mullen. The Uber light deck is a deck inside a deck. It has a regular 7-ply deck, it also has a carbon fiber deck on the inside of the normal wooden deck. The carbon fiber deck makes the board very light, but also very strong. The Uber light decks have a very long life span, do to the carbon fiber. The boards also have an amazing pop, since the carbon fiber inside the deck is so light. The Uber decks can be a tad pricey, but is defiantly worth every penny!
