Purple Stars

Ranked #3,615 in Squidoo Community, #280,697 overall

The Thrill is Awesome

It never fades! The first purple star that came my way was on the same day I became a Giant. It sent thrills up and down my spine and goose bumps appeared on my arms. That is what I call a thrill.

These awards are not given out willy nilly. You have to earn them and they used to be only for giants but now, because of the quality of lenses by new Squids, the policies were changed to include anyone who does a good lens no matter how many lenses they have or how long they have been on Squidoo.

Write From the Heart

Its not always easy to choose a topic for a lens but as an opinionated person of senior years I have learned to write from the heart. If something is wrong say it up front.

Not everyone wil agree with you and many may even opt out of your fan club when you say things they don't like to hear or which crosses their beliefs or ideals. But over time you will be surprised how many do think as you do and will stick by you through thick and thin. Many have notified me that they want to read ALL my lenses because they are honest and straightforward. Here is a list of my first 3 purple star lenses

Linked All Around

This is a picture of the inside of an amino acid moledule and it is a great demonstration of how living things hold together with links. The components are attracted to each other by force which draws them towards each other with hard to sever links. They then hook onto to other types of the same and form quantities that become visible and well publicised.

Lenses are living things and they too hold together with links. They can be via other lenses, web sites, blogs, articles, emails and so on. However many links a site has determines its ranking and how well it is listed in the search engines. That's why most of my lenses have featured those of other lensmasters, which both give them back links and extra exposure and also provide the same for my lenses.

It's all Magic

Getting a purple star is a bit like rubbing a magic lamp. The genie pops out and viola, there you are. The lovely trophy sits for all time on your lens as a sign that you are one of the best.

The Pressure was Slowing me Down

When the Pressure is up one does fewer lenses. That's what was happening to me by the beginning of October. By that time I had served six months as an angel and was rating lenses and featuring them from hundreds of Squids.

They were listed here Angel Blesings - Sprinkled with Stardustp>

It's A New Year

The New Year was like the turning of a page and the first wonderful thing that happened to me in Squidoo was another purple Star. This made number 17 and I am determined to at least equal my 2010 effort and hopefully better it.

It still gives me goosebumps and tears in my eyes when one of my lenses is so awarded. How about you? Please say how you feel in the Guest module.

I will be in there recommending and pulling for all squids to get ever more awards for their great lenses.

WoW! Purple star heaven here! I'm have read some of these already but it is nice to have them all in one place so that I can enjoy one right after the other.
    Good idea! Angel blessings!

Thanks for the article! I just got my first purple star!
  • PastorCher Jan 23, 2012 @ 6:11 am | delete
You have done well. I can see why there are so many purple stars. Purple stars should be for heart lens, while Gold stars should be reserved for people that have earned so many purple stars. You would be a candidate.

I'm new to squidoo and this lens was so helpful in explaining the journey a lensmaster can take and what a purple star is. Thanks for sharing your wisdom! And your lens was very compelling -- now I want to strive to get a purple star too! :)

Congratulations on each of your purple stars and I wish you many more. I love your analogy of lenses being living things that rely on links, much like amino acids.

You've done so well! I was thrilled today to get my third purple star, so you must be absolutely walking on air with the number you have - I haven't counted precisely, but I think it's well over twenty.

Congratulations on your Purple Stars. I'm not the type of person that enjoys the spotlight but a little reward (purple star) for hard work is welcomed. The purple stars encourage lensmasters to put a bit of effort in their lenses. I'm amazed at the creative lenses I read everyday. Thank you for featuring my purple lens! I'm am truly blushing! Best Wishes to you for 2011. :)

I got one for a Christmas gifts lens - which I later sold. Purple star certainly is a recognition of a Lense's quality. Feels real cool to get one.
