Skiing in the shade of Mont Blanc

One of the most extraordinary mountains in the world, the French Alps, are the real paradise for skiers and snowboarders, where the sharp rocky peaks with pure white slopes mix with green trees in the valleys.

The winter activities lovers can choose between the vast range of modern ski resorts, from high-altitude large ski areas like Val Thorens, to mall French villages with real character like St Sorlin d'Arves and Valloire.

Chamonix - Mont Blanc

Chamonix is surrounded by the most picturesque of the French Alpine peaks. The highest mountain in the Alps, Mont Blanc ( 4 807 m ) features glittering glaciers, popular spot for alpine tours and vast areas of fresh snow without ski traces for freeriders. The unforgettable experience is guaranteed by taking an extraordinary trail 20 km long from Aiguille du Midi through Vallee Blanche down to Chamonix.
Experienced skiers can test their skills on the narrow slopes of Le Brevent and La Flegere.

Val d'Isere - Tignes

The name of the skiing area - Espace Killy ( after legendary athlete Jean-Claude Killy ) and a gallery of hosted events (like Winter Olympic Games 1992, Criterium de la Première Neige or Alpine Ski World Cup ) are enough recommendation to plan your winter holidays in Val d'Isere.
Yet this legendary skiing area is not exclusively for champions.
Among 300 km of slopes served by 94 ultra-moderns ski lifts, there are also the easier runs for less skilled ski lovers, who can practice in the best conditions possible.

Les Trois Vallees

The ski area of Les Trois Vallees means 600 km of slopes, although they are well marked, the runs are in such a big number, that skiers quite often need to consult the ski map to get the idea, where they are now.
The three valleys offer the three different urban areas ; the modern buildings and plenty of apres-ski locals in Val Thorens, old classy Meribel and typical Alpine small villages of Courchevel.
