It isn't surprising that many question the difference of both these sun protectors. As the names imply, sunscreen filters the amount of UV rays to the skin, allowing some sun to penetrate the skin.

Sun block on the other hand actually blocks the UV rays from reaching the skin. Of course, both sun protectorants need to be applied regularly to offer maximum protection.

The fewer damaging UV rays to reach the skin, the less that free radical activity occurs, the healthier the skin.

All in all, using crushed aspirin in facial recipes is particularly effective in maintaining wonderful, smooth, and vibrant looking skin.

This aspiring facial peel uses a little known secret from the peels that you pay big bucks for at spas! (Can you keep the secret? Shhh... it's gelatin!)

Gelatin is made from collagen taken from animal connective tissue. Gelatin helps the peel to set-up and tighten the skin which results in reduced pore size!

• 8 to 10 crushed plain aspirin, (the cheapest generic version is just fine)
  
• 1 egg white
  
• 1 packet plain unflavored gelatin
  
• 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, (a form of tartaric acid)
  
• 2 teaspoons finely chopped mint
  

Whip the egg whites with the cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. Add the aspirin, gelatin and chopped mint. Whip mixture again until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Apply a light layer to facial skin and let set for up to 25 minutes. Rinse well with warm water. Any mixture remaining can be refrigerated for a few days in an air tight container.
